Have you heard about Patricia Arquette’s top-secret film project?

Patricia Arquette has spent the past several years working on what IMDB is calling Untitled 12-Year Richard Linklater Project. Catchy, huh? Scheduled to be finished in 2013, Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke play a divorced couple with a son, who is 6 years old when the film begins. Untitled takes place over 12 years, and basically shows the child going through the public school system, following him from first to 12th grade.
Collider has a video interview up with director Richard Linklater, in which he gives some information about the top-secret project. When asked about the writing process for the script, he says,
“Every year I get a year to kind of gestate that year. I always think, 7th grade, what’s going on given the history. It’s set in a contemporary setting and I play off what we did last year and how the actors are maturing and what’s going on. So it’s a combination of the architecture I’ve already mapped out for the whole film and then the specifics are often worked out at the last minute. A lot of improv.”
Although we have a few years left before we get to see it, Untitled seems like it’s going to be a fascinating film.

Intesresting indeed. I do love his Before Sunrise/Sunset. Ethan Hawke was in that too.
Yeah, this sounds like a really cool project. Can’t wait to see it when it’s finally finished. I loved the last project that he and Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke did together (Fast Food Nation).
