You know Alexis Arquette. She is the he formerly known as Robert Arquette, one of the many siblings of our very own Patricia Arquette.

The A&E indie film “Alexis Arquette: She’s My Brother” premieres Monday at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

The film focuses on the 38-year-old transsexual performer and his struggle with gender identity. At around age 30, Alexis — who was born with the name Robert — began living life as the opposite gender. What started out as cross-dressing performance art became a way of life as he discovered he was a woman trapped inside the body of a man. (Full story)

This is interesting. Apparently this has been in the making for some time. I read that it was originally supposed to be a documentary for A&E, but it didn’t work out.

It must be hard not only for Alexis, but for the siblings to deal with this kind of a change. I heard Patricia talk about this in an interview on the Adam Carolla show last November, and she is very fond of her brother and very supportive and protective of him/her. She talked about how she used to get into fights in school defending him. Sounds like a pretty cool big sis.

This is interesting. It must have been difficult for her and for the siblings to deal with this kind of change. I’m sure they’re very supportive of her. I’ve heard Patricia talk about her in interviews and she is very fond of Alexis and very protective of her.

I also recently found a video clip about the premiere of the film at TriBeca and it said that Patricia worked behind the camera making the film for Alexis. That sounds really cool. Should be interesting.

Been watching Alexis in movies for years - in and out of drag. I applaud the fact that she finally feels free to be her true self and that her family love and support her.

    That said….

GIRL.IS.A.MESS.! Finally, there’s someone who makes even Patricia’s WORST fashion choice look outright inspired! Let’s hope that she put back a little extra money from her change operation to get those features feminized a bit and hire a fashion stylist! Frankly, she was better looking in her high drag days - as it stands, she looks like she’s channeling Sylvester Stallone’s mother, Jackie. Ick.

    My thoughts exactly, JCW.

While I applaud her for her courage in making such a choice, and the fact that her family is very supportive of her, she definitely has the most questionable fashion sense of any of the Arquettes.

As long as she’s out there, Patricia has no need to worry about being called the worst dressed of the Arquette clan. Alexis’ wins that title hands down. Let’s just try to keep that in mind next time we see a picture of Patricia that we want to laugh about.

And Alexis’, you need to think about that surgery. I know people. Call me, girlfriend. I’ll hook you up.
