Allison DuBuis in Japan
Allison DuBuis and her family have been touring in Japan and, according to her husband Joe, are being well received. This could potentially be very important to the future success of Medium - overseas sales can bring big bucks.
On top of that, she hosted a viewing of the 3D episode of Medium from season 2. This event attracted over 900 people. The venue could only hold approximately 600 so some people had to be turned away.
He also posted a ton of new photos to his MySpace blog. Most of them are photos of Japan and people they met there, but there are a few nice family shots.

Katelyn, that link only takes you to the main MySpace page, not to his page or any of the photos. Could you post a direct link? Please, I’d love to hear what he has to say.

Ok, I see what it’s doing. You have to log in to your MySpace account to see the pictures. When it takes you to that page, log in and it takes you immediately to his photos. I have no idea why MySpace doesn’t let you just go to the link without signing in.

Thanks for sharing that, Katelyn. That’s cool to know that they’re out promoting the show overseas. I know that it’s pretty big in Europe, though they’re almost a season behind us. And it’s big in Australia too. But it’s HUGE in Brazil and South America. Someone at the Envelope said it’s bigger down there than Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, or any of those “watercooler” shows that Americans are so obsessed with. Obviously people in South America are smarter than most North Americans (excluding Medium fans). Lol.
I only hope that the network takes things like that into consideration when looking at a show’s future. I’m beginning to have serious doubts about the new prexy of NBC. He seems like too much of a wild card. I’m betting he’s going to load the net with reality shows and stuff that he’s produced. Have you heard about the Spanish telenovela that he’s reworking? Loosely translated, the title is “Without Breasts, There is no Paradise.” He claims it’s going to be the next “Ugly Betty”. Ugh. This guy sounds like a real winner. Way to go, Zucker.

Wow, that show sounds umm…special. I hope he plans to re-title it. I’m hoping that the big support overseas and the vocal fans here save Medium from even the most ardent reality t.v. obsessed, but you never know with television.

I don’t have a MySpace account (I’m not allowed to) so I won’t see the rest of what it had to say, but all well.
I’m glad to hear that people overseas like Medium. I spent the weekend at my friend’s house a few weeks ago and I brought the first two disks of the first season of Medium with me, and I think I got her hooked. We watched them all night. I wanted to go to bed, but she said she had to see the next episode.
I hate reality shows, I think they are pointless. Medium better not get kicked around by this new guy or his oddly titled shows.

Holly, I know what you mean about people getting hooked. I got a couple of friends to watch it because I talked about it all the time. And when they finally did, they came back and told me they were instantly hooked.
I’m not holding my breath about this new guy. I’m hoping that he doesn’t last long. I hope that he doesn’t treat the show too badly. We’ll have to wait and see.
