Emmy 2007 Disappointment for Medium Fans

by Katelyn on September 16th, 2007

Well, folks, I am sad to report that Patricia Arquette did not win the award for best actress. Neither did Kyra Sedgwick. No, Sally Field won. I am pretty surprised, because her tape was weak and she was really a supporting actress. Noone ever wins against Sally, though. People just love her, probably because of her sweet personality and down to earth attitude.

Sorry to see Patricia didn’t win however was happy to see a number of shots of her in the audiance. Her dress was beautiful and I could go on and on about her clevage.

Really she is a class actress and she looks fantastic and loved her hairdo too.

I noticed her manager Molly Madden was there for moral support.

I sure hope that NBC has the brains to bring back Medium before January when their shows start to flop. You just know there will be at least a couple.

Nite Patricia wherever you are. You had a fantastic season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom, when did you see her in the audience? I didn’t see a single shot of her? But then I was busy chatting with Katelyn, so I probably missed it.
I hate that they didn’t interview her on the red carpet. Did anyone see coverage on any of the other channels? Was she on any of them?

She totally got robbed again this year.No way should Sally Field have won that award this year. Not with the submission she had. It’s just wrong.

I’m sad she didn’t win, but if she didn’t win, I’m glad it went to Sally Field over Edie Falco. I’m glad there were some surprises this year in the winners because sometimes it just seems like the same people and shows win.

I saw a couple of quick shots of her in the audience - she was sitting next to some lady with dark hari, but they mananged to not show anyone around her - I was hoping to get a glimpse of the other cast members - they had all the other casts sitting together.

I swear, I’m so sick of seeing and hearing about the Heroes cast and the show!

I really hate the way the cameras pick out someone like Ellen Degeneres and Portia di Rossi in the audience and show them all night long - what was the point of that? Or Eva Longoria? I like Desperate Housewives and Eva, but they must have zeroed in on her a dozen times already and she wasn’t even nominated for anything!

Dawn, I watched E! and TV Guide channel switching back and forth between them and neither ever talked with Patricia or even mentioned her. I swear they could have talked less to some of those stars prattling on about crap and been able to interview more stars - like Patricia.

Betty, I know what you mean. I only saw her once on the E red carpet show, and it was just for a few seconds. But Ryan Gaycrest spent several minutes talking to his good buddy Eva Longoria, as usual, and it’s never just “who are you wearing?” with her. It’s always about her husband and her vacation and her Blackberry, and anything else they can think of. Yet when he talks to anyone else, it’s always very brief.

I did see Patricia in the audience a couple of times. The dark haired lady next to her was her manager, Molly Madden. I guess she couldn’t get her husband to go with her, so she took her manager as her date, lol. But I noticed that they had her sitting in the “geek” section, with the comedians and talk show hosts and reality/tech nominees. She was sitting in front of Jon Stewart and behind Al Gore, which is kind of good, because those two kept getting on camera,so she did get to be seen, at least. I didn’t see any of the other cast members there. But Kelsey Grammer was there, I’m sure to promote his new show.

Too bad she didn’t win, but there’s still next year. At least she looked beautiful. I’ve already seen her on a couple of best-dressed lists, which is something of a minor victory for her. One critic said, “the usually quirky Patricia Arquette opted instead for understated glam.” I especially loved the way she looked at the pre-Emmy party in the little black dress. That was really beautiful.

    Dawn,

Actually if you looked at the pre show they showed her pic on the screen at least 5 times.

She was sitting looked like in the third row in front of Jon Stewart.

When he won his award, that was a good shot of her. When Al Gore accepted his award there was an excellent shot of her, and when Sally field accepted her award that was a very good picture of her and Molly Madden sitting next to her, although the expression were not very happy, but no one likes to lose.

There may have been one or two other shots but not as good as those.

I received a google alert were there was a video of her the nite before in a black dress, different one but just as pretty.

Also you can vote on her dress on

Everyone agrees how pretty her dress was this year. She definitely outdid her self.

Yes, I agree with all of you. I missed her completly on both E! and TV Guide, but I did see her a few times in the crowd. Sad that she didn’t win (as I stayed up until that award was presented), but at least she had a nice dress.

On second thought, maybe we shouldn’t be so bummed. After all, Patricia has been nominated now, what, three years in a row? That is fantastic! Seems to me like the folks on CSI (the original) have never been nominated for an acting award, and I think William Petersen is fabulous and very natural in his part. Marg Helgenberger as well. I’m not sure if the show itself has ever been nominated for Best Drama either - I would think it would be nominated and win in technical categories with all the special effects they do. Now if the folks at CSI Miami get nominated for an acting award, other than a razzie, I’d be tempted to throw away my TV!

It was kind of refreshing this year that the voters speard the wealth around instead of piling everything up on one show, which is what I was afraid was going to happen with The Sopranos. There were also a lot of surprises. I just hope Patricia gets nominated for the fourth season next year.

Speaking of the 4th season, TV.com lists the start date for Medium as January 20, 2008 - not the 7th as had been reported elsewhere. I’m still keeping fingers and toes crossed that one of NBC’s other shows will tank and they will start Medium way before January. Anyone want to join me in a letter writing campaign to NBC?

Betty, Patricia has only been nominated twice. She was shut out last year. But she has been nominated for both the Golden Globes and the SAGs two years in a row, and I feel certain she will be nominated again next year. And hopefully she’ll get another Emmy nomination next year as well. I think that with Anjelica Huston joining the cast for six episodes, the writers will take it up to the next level and come up with some really kick-**s stories that will not only get Patricia another nomination, but that will earn some for the other cast and maybe the show as well. I read one writer at EW Online who was liveblogging the Emmys comment about why Medium was never even talked about for Best Drama series. This was after he commented on how good Patricia looked that night. It’s not very often that critics say such nice things about Patricia or the show.

About the return date, my friend Dee, who has a Medium myspace fansite, says the start date is the 7th or 8th of January. I wonder why the discrepancy. I’m not sure about TV.com, so I don’t know how accurate their information is. We’ll have to wait and see and hope that NBC decides to bring it back earlier. I’m betting something’s gonna tank (my money’s on Chuck) and it’ll be back by November. But it still couldn’t hurt to write to NBC. It worked for Jericho fans. (You think we should send them a billion nuts, lol?)
