Fantastic News!
According to Reuters/Yahoo News:
NBC has handed out an early renewal to “Medium,” which will return for a fourth season in the fall.
Oops. All that dancing around and screaming happily jarred my vase off the counter! I’m making a double batch of Grandma Maguire’s French Cookies to celebrate, so be sure to stop by Wednesday for a cookie and Open Mic Night.

Ow, I think I hurt something doing my happy dance. Hold on, let me catch my breath.
Okay, I’m all better now.
And can I just say, Hallelujah!! Finally, after months of torture and suspense, we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief. And did you notice what Kevin Reilly had to say about Medium’s “very loyal fan base”? Guess all those letters paid off. So we didn’t win the Save One Show campaign. Looks like maybe that was a good thing, after all.
And not to say I told you so, but remember you heard it here first.

This is great news!
I was so worried that they had decided to let it go.
Does anyone else think that it would do better in
the ratings if they put it back on Mondays?

That’s great news. Hopefully there will be another announcement coming about a second season of Friday Night Lights to go with it. :D

Oh happy day!
I really enjoy this show! I was prepared for a fight. And now I can exhale. It would be nice to get an interview from some members of the cast on this great news today.

Awesome! Even though the odds were in it’s favor, I couldn’t help being a little worried about cancellation so this is great to hear. Also finally got around to posting, wow. :0

Yippee! Yippee! Yay! I’m sooooo happy! sorry, that loud screaming you heard was mine!
An interview, yes, that would be a great idea! Kately, just hop on a jet to LA and demand an interview with all the Medium cast members!
Yum, french cookies - sounds decadent! I can’t wait!
Now would be a good time to have a survey on storylines for a season 4! What we’d like to see happen.
We need to take TV Guide and these other media types to task for rarely showing any love to Medium and heaping all kinds of praise on so many less worthy shows.
I swear TV Guide must have stock in My Name is Earl, The Office, 30 Rock, and even Studio 60. Heroes is another one I just don’t get. If I see one more cover story on American Idol, I think I’ll cancel my subscribtion to TV Guide.

Betty, I can’t believe you left Lost off of that list. TV Guide loves the Lost.

Brett, you are so right about that!
Seriously, don’t you think they MUST have a financial stake in these shows? Week after week after week the same shows have article after article and highlight after highlight. Even stuff on Bravo gets more coverage in TV Guide than Medium.

As we celebrate this good news, let’s all take a few minutes to send our thoughts and prayers to those people in Kansas where 95% of their town was destroyed by a tornado.
Can you imagine? One day you get up and your home and everything you own, everyone you know is there, including your job. Within a few minutes it’s all wiped off the face of the earth. How tragic.

Brett, you are so right about Lost.
Seriously, don’t you think these people MUST have a financial stake in these shows? Even stuff on Bravo and pure muck like the Pussycat Dolls search for a new doll gets more press.
This is what we have come to - a show about Hooters - yes, you heard me right - a show searching for the perfect…..um……pair…..of Hooters. What scheduling god found this show?

I honestly think a lot of it has to do with how well shows are promoted and how much buzz publicists generate for them. There’s no other way to explain the popularity of some of the downright horrible shows and movies that do well.

I think you’re right, Katelyn, and sadly Medium is one of the shows that gets lost in the shuffle. NBC was so big on their new shows this year that they have totally ignored the rest of the noteworthy shows on their schedule, especially Medium. The L&O shows get more press than Medium, and I have to wonder if it isn’t because Medium is owned by CBS. Hopefully next year they will do a better job of promoting Medium, especially if they plan to leave it on Wednesdays against Lost.
Betty, don’t forget Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and American Idol. TV Guide now has a segment every week dedicated to AI. Not that I have anything against those shows, but it’s sad that they get more press at the expense of other, equally, if not more, deserving shows. It seems that all of the entertainment magazines have become so enamored of the pop culture phenomenon of these shows that they have forgotten what it is to provide equal, unbiased coverage.

From how some articles read, the cast and crew always knew they show was going to be renewed. I am sure NBc told them to zip it until the announcement.
What I noticed about TV Guide: They LOVED and gushed about ‘Medium’ the first 2 seasons, getting 2 cover atories and tons of other press, and then the 3rd season they really have not done much. I was hoping for another cover story, but we must have to wait for next year. I feel like I have seen multiple covers for the SAME shows in ONE year like CIS Miama and NY, Lost, The Office, etc. Silly, there are SO many more shows people are watching that deserve media attention.
