Medium Dreams

Glenn Gordon Caron on Medium

by Katelyn on March 4th, 2008

Glenn Gordon Caron did a wonderful interview about Medium the other day for The Washington Post. (Thanks to Dawn for pointing it out.) Lots of fun trivia and tidbits. At the end, he mentioned that they were still working on last night’s Aftertaste episode so he had to get going. Someone had wondered in one of the comments if they pushed the episodes through to try to get as many done before the strike and I think the fact that they were still working on a “finished” episode suggests that they may have done so. If those first few of the season were rushed, imagine what we can look forward to the rest of the season, now that they have some time to polish things!

(By the way, you may have seen this new image style on a few other blogs. They are high resolution and do not limit me to teeny thumbnail images!)

POSTED IN: Medium Producers

4 opinions for Glenn Gordon Caron on Medium

Katelyn, I got the impression that he was talking about next week’s episode when he said they were still working on it. At the end, he mentioned to be sure and watch last night’s episode, which was directed by Miguel Sandoval. So that’s why I think he was referring to the next episode and not last night’s.

Anyway, I also noticed some of the comments that some of the posters made about the show, and I agree with a lot of them, but there were a few that I thought were unnecessarily negative. Like the guy who stated unequivocally that there is no such thing as psychic phenomena and basically bashed GGC and the Medium producers for promoting something that doesn’t exist. I’m not saying there is or there isn’t, but there isn’t enough evidence either way to convince me that it doesn’t exist.
I also noticed that one poster called him on one particular sticking point (at least in his mind) and that was that in the early eps, there always seemed to be a source for Allison’s visions, but in recent eps, there doesn’t seem to be anything to explain where the visions are coming from. He quickly said that was his fault and that he would do better on that. I liked that about him. He was quick to accept responsibility for things that he felt were his to bear, and he quickly shut down the guy who made the comments about psychics being baloney. I wish I had known about that. I would love to have had the chance to ask him a question or two.

You’re so right about the first few eps, Katelyn. If that’s an example of how they work when they’re rushed, I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us for the rest of the season. I read another interview recently with GGC and he said that they had material all ready to go, so they were ready to jump back into production (which, according to Patricia, they already have), so they would have all new material all the way through May. Yippee!
Oh, and I love that new image style. Love the big pics! :)

I sure hope he’s right about the series going on for a long time! I thought he handled the sceptic very masterfully!

Obviously, this is a very old pic of GGC!

    Dawn,
I can’t wait, either. Glad you like the big pics.

    Betty,
Yes, it is older. They’re just starting out, so hopefully they’ll get more current stuff up for some of the people who aren’t major limelight hogs up soon. (There are plenty of the young actresses with issues, of course.)
