Good-Bye My Fellow “Medium” Junkies
Today is my last day writing for Medium Dreams. I have been trying to write a farewell post for the past week. Alas, I sucketh at good-bye’s. Perhaps a fable is in order:
Once upon a time, a brand new writer took over a blog about the TV show Medium. She had grandiose plans, not all of which came to fruition, but she wrote and she wrote; she read books about the real Allison DuBois; she analyzed DVD’s of Seasons 1 and 2. Yet few came to share her love for all things Medium.
Then one day, her friends took pity on her and began to leave comments to support her blogging endeavor. They were witty and irreverent and rarely politically correct. She loved them, one and all, for one can only be so funny in a vacuum. One needs interaction for true hilarity.
THE MEDIUM DREAMS COMMENTER HALL OF FAME:
Old Friends:
- JCW: My childhood pal and champion of witty and irreverent comments, not to mention frequency and overall supportiveness.
- JennBo: My pal who takes time out of her busy schedule to watch the show and pop in with comments simply because she is my friend.
- G: My friend who does not watch Medium and barely knows who Patricia Arquette is, but who pops in every day to give me a page view and even leaves the occasional comment, all in support of my blogging endeavor.
New Friends:
- Dawn: The most passionate Patricia Arquette fan I know.
- Betty: Is anyone more in love with David Cubitt than she? No, I think not.
- Holly: Scoop-master extraordinaire.
- Brett: A self-professed “big hairy boy” who reviews Medium for TVSquad each week and displays his unabashed love for the show every single time.
- Michael: Oh wait, there may be a tie for Most Passionate Patricia Arquette Fan between Michael and Dawn. I’ll let you two sort that out.
- Nansee: Uh-oh, another tie, this time for most rabid David Cubitt fan. Nansee is also the voice of reason and most entertaining hater of wooden actress Tina DiJoseph, aka Deputy Mayor Lynn DiNovi.
- Tom: The mathematician who likes spooky TV (and Patricia Arquette even better.)
Many thanks to anyone who has ever left a comment at Medium Dreams as well as you lurkers out there. (Yes, I can see you!)
Since I took over this blog September 2006, I have published 472 blog posts. Monthly visits to Medium Dreams have increased 241%, page views have increased 155%, and unique visitors have increased 334%. That is all because of you, dear Medium Dreams reader.
Thank you. Thank you for coming. Thank you for commenting. Thank you for sharing your love of all things Medium. It’s been fun!
Farewell. Drop in on my personal blog GetSheila any time. All are welcome.
See you in the comments.

Sheila you will certainly be missed! I think I win most passionate Patricia fan for sure! I will take anyone down town who challenges me…ha!
Thank you for doing such a wonderful job here, and always keeping us updated on patricia news, sightings, anything “medium”. This has been my one stop shop for all things “medium”.
You are wonderful, and I hope someone will be taking over for you! Are you still upkeeping the site, even though you are not a blogger/moderator??
Good luck in all you do, and please keep posting and checking in here when you can!

I can’t believe you’re really leaving, Sheila. I hope you will still be around visting the site and chatting with your fellow Medium Dreamers. It won’t be the same without you, so please drop back by.
As Michael said, you have done a fantastic job with this site and have it a fun and entertaining, as well as informative place to hang out. I hope they find someone as much fun as you to take over. (I don’t know. You’ve left some pretty big shoes to fill.) Hope we’ll still see you around.
I’ll take that challenge, Michael. Where do ya wanna meet? J/k. We agreed once to share the title, remember? I’m okay with that.

Shelia, thanks for being a great moderator with such a great sense of humor! As Michael wrote, Medium Dreams has been the best place for info about anything related to Medium & you will be missed. What will we do without you? I hope that the site will continue and that you will be able to stop by and post.
I will continue my two-fold mission of 1) making the world aware of the painful eye splinters I have suffered from watching Mrs. Caron’s wooden acting and 2) foaming at the mouth every time David Cubitt appears onscreen.
Take care and thanks for doing such a great job!

They do not yet have a replacement blogger for Medium Dreams. Finding bloggers these days is a bit of a struggle.
As a precautionary measure, I scheduled an Open Mic Night post for this Wednesday so we can still gather to yak about the show. I am hopeful they will find someone by next week’s show.
See you Wednesday!

Well it’s not really goodbye so much as farewell for now, don’t you think? It’s been great fun commenting on Particia Arquette’s questionable fashion sense - love the girl anyway. I hope you’ll consider making “Freaky Friday” an occassional feature on your personal blog - it would be no fun bashing Sylvia Browne elsewhere
without the knowledge that you read it and secretly delight in every word.
Medium fans are a fun group - hope you’ll all check in over at Getsheila so we can chat some more!

Sheila as blogger will certainly be missed!
Where are we going to get all out up to date Patricia appearance info? EEK!!

Sheila, thanks so much for mentioning me! This is such a great site, after I discovered it, I couldn’t imagine why there weren’t more comments on some of the previous posts as I sought more and more info on my favorite show, and Yes, I am CRAZY about David Cubitt!
I’m still so jealous you got to go to the Medium set and interact with the producers and actors (although David Cubitt and Miguel Sandoval were not on set that day) you still took the time to go and talk and write, just for us! I hope you will keep up with your super secret contacts and be a special “guest” writer some time with the scoop.
It will be hard to find someone to fill your shoes, but I promise to be nice and give them a chance to succeed.
It’s been great interacting with all the terrific people who post here. I hope everyone will continue to come back and perhaps we can keep it going somehow until a replacement comes along.
Good luck Sheila, you have my personal email, so please keep in touch!

Dear Sheila,
Thank you for sharing your passion for Medium.
I have this hobby, one which may only be shared by your mother, to record television and watch later (possibly). With your inspiration, I have made Medium a “must watch” even if I watch 3 weeks after air date. Other shows never even see the “play” option on Tivo. For example, the Black Donnelly’s which hasen’t made the cut for another season. Or perhaps the final season of Alias which is STILL hording space on the Tivo.
See you at GetSheila!

Oh, this is kinda sad. I still can’t believe that you’re leaving! Where am I suppose to get my Medium scoop? As soon as I found this site I made a point of checking it regularly to indulge my cravings for up to the minute news on everything Medium.
Shelia, you really have something to be proud of. You’ve made a great place for all of us to interact and discuss our favorite show and all of the talented people who work on it. This really is the best source for information on the web.
Thank you so much for all the work you have put into this! You have left some pretty big shoes to fill. But, like Betty, I will be nice and give my full support to whoever the nest blogger-in-chief may be. I hope they get someone soon–what will I do without this site?
Thank you for mentioning me, and I must say that I’m happy to hear that you’ll still be around.

Is she gone yet? Can we talk about her now?

Yes, she is totally gone. Thank god.
She has a really big butt, doesn’t she? (D’oh! Forgot to change my login name!)

God! That ass! We had to open the sliding doors on the soundstage just to get her in for that set visit! I tried to give her some helpful fashion advice, but she just laughed in my face…

Oops! Uh…that was her, wasn’t it? Damn! I fall for it every time!

I do so too know who Patricia Arquette is! She’s Charley Weaver’s granddaughter. As to watching the show, if I don’t see two teams and a spherical or oblong projectile, I’m generally not interested.
See ya at the other joint!
