How Much Medium’s Viewers Mean to Lifetime

by Katelyn on May 20th, 2008

cheer Well, I know you all feel a bit under-appreciated sometimes, especially since you are such loyal and devoted fans of Medium. So, I thought this little tidbit of information would make you feel a bit more special:

Lifetime is reported to have paid $1.2 million per episode for the rerun rights to this awesome show. Of course, way back in 2005 when they put the deal together, they weren’t going to start showing reruns until 2009, but I’m not complaining! I know it isn’t new news, but I got to wondering exactly how much the reruns went for and did some digging around to find the news in a bunch of 2005 archives and thought you’d like to know, too.

1 opinion for How Much Medium’s Viewers Mean to Lifetime

I love that, Katelyn! I remember when that deal was made cuz there was speculation that NBC wasn’t going to pick it up for season 4 and that CBS was going to take it and keep it going for the syndication value, (they need at least 100 eps for a syndication deal). So everyone thought Lifetime was crazy for paying that kind of money (which they are because they have totally wasted this show on their network).

But what’s funny is that Ghost Whisperer just got sold for syndication to the SciFi channel (which is owned by NBC) and it only went for $700,000 an episode. It was also sold to two other networks in the same package.
I wish Lifetime would do a better job of scheduling Medium because they’re squandering a golden opportunity.
