Jake Weber Goes to a Wedding
![]()
Wow, I wish Jake Weber went to my family’s weddings. He looks fabulous! His date, Elizabeth Carey, looks adorable in that dress. I’d never have the nerve to go out in a dress that short, though.
Anyway, Jake Weber and Elizabeth Carey were guests at the wedding of the well known stylist, Estee Stanley on April 5th.
Am I the only person who needs a moment when I see Jake Weber with Elizabeth Carey or Patricia Arquette with Thomas Jane instead of with each other? Funny how we get so caught up in the lives of television characters to the point where it seems wrong that they are with their significant others instead of the t.v. spouse!

YUM-OOOhhh!!!!
David Cubitt’s not the only one who can wear the hell out of a suit. Man alive, is she a lucky woman or what??!!
I want him at my wedding too, but I want him in a tux beside me standing in front of a preacher. :)
I know what you mean about seeing Jake and Patricia with their significant others. It just seems so strange because they are so perfect together. Maybe that’s just cuz they’re such good actors, lol!
I heard a radio interview that Thomas did recently, ( I think it was Mother’s Day weekend) and he and Patricia and their daughter were on a family fishing trip, and Thomas proudly announced that Patricia had just caught a rainbow trout (a 10-incher!). They sounded like they were having a lot of fun together. They also seem like they are made for each other. Hopefully Jake and his partner and Thomas and Patricia are all happy with one another. It makes me feel good to see people like them so happy.

Umm, date? I thought Jake was married?
I’ll still take David Cubitt in a suit - or anything else for that matter - over Jake any day of the week!
Katelyn, if you’ve to the legs for a dress like that, go for it! Unfortunately, that ship has already sailed for me! Ha Ha!
I know the latest thing is to wear black, but I’m from the old school where you never wore white after Labor Day or before Easter, so I’ll never get used black being worn for a wedding - especially by the bridal party, unless it’s a tux.

Betty, you ARE old school! Lol! Nothing wrong with that, but things are definitely different now.
No, Jake isn’t married to his babymama, but they are in a serious relationship.
Oh, Katelyn, did you see some of the adorable pictures of Jake with his son at the park recently? Those were so sweet! Love to see more of those.

Betty,
Me, too. However, they are definitely identified as Jake Weber and date Elizabeth Carey on the photo credits, not wife, so I thought maybe I was wrong and had just assumed they were married because of the baby.

Dawn,
I did see them and they are wonderful. Unfortunately, I can’t post them on the blog because that photographer hasn’t granted rights through any of the photo agencies we have agreements with.

Another thing I can’t get used to is people showing up in church on Sunday wearing shorts and flip flops! My Momma raised us to always wear our best to church - she would roll over in her grave to see what some people stroll in wearing - I’ve worn better looking stuff working in the yard! At this one church, this woman, who happens to be a Junior High teacher, even brings her Diet Pepsi bottle into the church with her and drinks it during services! She and her husband will sit there and rub their hands on each other and kiss - DURING services! They act like they are on a Saturday night date. I’m definitely no prude, but there’s a time and place for everything as they say. BTW, who are they putting on this PDA for anyway?
Dawn, well, just call me old fashioned, but I think it’s better to get married FIRST and THEN have the baby. If you’re committed to each other and raising children together, why not get married and make the whole thing legal? Young adults today treat everything like it’s disposable - they move in and out of each others lives as often as they trade in one cell phone for another - along the way, they drag along a kid or two and each one has a different baby daddy! Once the kids are grown, OK, if you want to play musical houses, it only involves you and not the kids. Probably a bit confusing around the holidays….you’ll need a score card to keep track of who’s related to who!
Back to weddings - weddings have really gotten out of control. Couples spend more for their weddings than I paid for my house! So much planning and so many months ahead of time - personally, I think the more complicated you make things and farther out you plan, only makes the possibility of something going wrong that much higher. Whatever happened to just having a nice ceremony and a cake and punch reception with some modest decorations and some flowers? I guess I’m just too practical of a person to want to blow what would amount to a nice down payment for a house - or even buy a house in some markets!
When you went to a wedding, you definitely did not wear white - that was reserved for the bride and her day, and you didn’t wear black unless you were a man and that was the color of your suit. Of course, you always kept a “little black dress”, classically styled, and some classic black pumps, in your closet for dressy occasions or for a funeral. Throw some pearls on with it and you were good to go.
Back in the sixties (and before), a well-dressed woman never left the house without her hat and gloves - her handbag had to match her shoes, too. I’m not suggesting we go back to that, but it would be nice to see people make more of an effort with their clothing choices - and not to wear jeans/shorts and flip flops for everything.

Wow Betty I know what you mean. I could almost deal with the casual attire until I saw someone sipping Starbucks during service!!! What the h***? I love this particular church, but I haven’t officially joined, so I guess I shouldn’t be so critical, but I know what you mean.
As for Jake, he looks nice. I don’t like Liz’s dress- too cocktail party.

Sipping a Starbucks in church! That’s awful. Next thing you now, they will be chowing down on their McDonald’s burger during the sermon!
What it all amounts to is a lack of respect for elders, authority, etc. Respect is sorely lacking in our schools today. Some schools do a decent job of instilling a healthy respect for authority, but others do nothing. A local school recently had their brand new Athletic Director resign - this was his first and last year at that school - because the kids had no respect for him and he couldn’t get any back up at all from the administration. Sad, very sad.
