Join Us For This Week’s Open Mic Night

by Sheila on February 6th, 2007

Every Wednesday is Open Mic Night here at Medium Dreams. It is actually more of an Open Mic Afternoon Through Evening and into the Night.

The mic turns on at noon, Wednesday, February 7th, so drop on by and look for the Medium Open Mic Night: Apocalypse Push post.

Hope to see you here. We can talk about the night’s episode or if anyone besides me remembers Arliss Howard (aka Captain Push) in Plain Clothes.

Thanks for your great site Sheila and all you do. I keep finding new (old) things I haven’t seen before. Keep up the good work! I look forward to Open Mic nite and live blogging!

Yes, I couldn’t agree more with Betty. I have been a fan of the show for a while now but only recently did I find this site and really started getting into this show. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to the little bit of Open Mic Night I actually get to participate in!

Sheila, just wanted to say thanks for keeping this great site running and giving us a place to read about our favorite show and discuss it. I can’t participate in Open Mic Night because I’m usually working, though I do love to read other people’s comments. I just wanted to mention something and see if you have an opinion on it. I just read a review in a Seattle paper that was lamenting the fact that ‘Lost’ had gotten stale(fingers crossed) and that ‘Medium’ was getting the same way. It said that Patricia Arquette had lost her edge and had “settled into a workmanlike performance” while “Jake Weber’s Joe is-..virtually nonexistent.” While I agree that the wonderful Jake Weber needs more to do, I personally feel that the show is as good, if not better than ever. What do you think?

Joe cannot leave the show…he is the only cute one! I have to ask…is Patricia Arquette pregnant again? If not, she has really packed on the lbs. Not saying that she doesn’t still look good..but, it is suprising that a Hollywood actress would let her weight get away from her like this.

Betty & Holly: Thanks so much! I am so glad you found us.

You too, Dawn. As for the Seattle paper, negativity sells. *grump* I am impressed right down to my birthday suit by Patricia Arquette every week. She is just so REAL. I don’t know what a “workmanlike performance” looks like but she always brings something new.

They are right about one thing. Joe needs some oomph.

Mary: Bad Mary! Bad bad Mary! Patricia is not fat!

Whew. Not that I got that off my chest, Patricia said she made a conscious decision at the beginning of the show not to be a teeny weeny anorexic. She said she plays a woman who has had three kids so it would be unrealistic to look like an uber model. It IS quite amazing the studio isn’t pitching a South-Beach-Diet fit, especially when we hear they freaked out when she cut her hair. I do think she looks lovely and she really is a teeny thing in real life. That ten pounds they say the camera adds? It is true!

Hey, leave Patricia alone! I think she looks great! I think it’s just the camera and the clothes she wears. If you don’t believe me, check out her website and look at the promo shots from this season in the photo galleries. She definitely does not look fat in those shots. But even if she did,I am proud of her for making the decision a long time ago to be a real person and not conform to any stereotypes. And for her conviction in playing this character the way she felt the character should look. JMO.

    Oh, Sheila,
I’m not sure what they mean by a workmanlike performance either, but I have a feeling after next week’s episode, they’ll be singing a different tune. It looks like it’s gonna be a great one!
