Hello my people. Liveblogging Week at Medium Dreams is almost over and what have we accomplished? Let us review:
SUCCESSES

DELAYED SUCCESSES
I have a bit of problem with the “F” word. You know, failure. Ergo I titled this section Delayed Successes rather than Failures. Things will get done, just not quite when I said they would. For example, I said to watch for liveDVDblogging of episodes 3 through 7 this week “for sure.” Well, you may have noticed it is Saturday and I am only through episode 5. I underestimated the amount of time it takes to liveblog an episode.
What? Each episode is less than an hour. How can it take so long if you are really “liveblogging?”
Well, Miss Pushy Smarty Pants, let me just tell you about that. First, you take your first pass through the show, typing furiously so as (hopefully) not to miss a single thing. Then, thanks to the luxury of DVD technology, you take a second pass as you replay each scene to capture every nuance and some really good dialogue. Finally, you read through your draft to catch spelling and grammar errors and generally tighten things up.
Then, if you are me last Tuesday night, you realize you have misspelled the crooked cop Wolfe’s name as Wolf, so you use the Find & Replace feature in your blogging software to Find:Wolf and Replace:Wolfe, thus causing an endless loop where it keeps finding “Wolf” inside the word “Wolfe” and replacing it ad infinitum so I get a bunch of Wolfeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’s until the program finally crashes and I lose everything, including my draft.
Then you cry. If you’re still me, that is.
So.
That is my whiny explanation for why I did not reach my goal of liveblogging five episodes this week. It also occurred to me that it might be kind of boring to get liveblogged episodes one after the other every day with nothing interspersed to break the monotony. I shall endeavor to intersperse.
