Medium Episode 4.05 “Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble” Spoiler

by Katelyn on February 7th, 2008

Remember the other week when they showed an episode teaser where Devalos came back and Allison was working for the other side of the team? Well, this is that episode and it will air February 25th. Allison agrees to work for Larry Watt, lawyer for the accused. She’s pretty excited about the new opportunity until she realizes that his client is not innocent as he claims, but a lying wife murdering rat. Now what?

Hey, Allison may be having a bad day here, but Devalos and Ariel both are starting new ventures. Perhaps one of them will need her services in the future and she’ll never have to work for a lawyer for the defense again!

Oh, that Larry Watt is a rat, too!

I’m so happy! Another new episode, but another whole week and a few days until we see our favorite people again. It will be nice to see Devalos back, but I hope that doesn’t mean we won’t see Scanlon. Bet David Cubitt and Miguel Sandoval are really ramping up their ping pong skills with all this free time.

Did you guys hear the news that the writer’s strike MAY BE over soon? They are meeting Saturday and I believe it said they have a tentative agreement. I certainly hope so. Everyone needs to get back to work and we need new programming - that’s not reality!

I’m glad that they brought back Larry Watt. He’s the kind of guy you love to hate, inn’t he? Lol! This should be good too.

I heard that news too, Betty. In fact, Michael Eisner (Disney CEO) told CNN that it was all but a done deal, that it was as good as over, and didn’t seem to think there was much chance that the writers could reject the deal. That’s great, but I’ve been reading that some of the networks may not bring all of their shows. They may just bring back the ones that are big hits and ratings winners, and not restart the others until next season, if at all. I’ve already read that FX has decided not to restart filming on Courteney and David’s show, Dirt, and just show a shortened season. Hopefully, that means that it will be back next season.
I’ve also read that Ben Silverman has been hinting (and has all but confirmed) that Friday Night Lights will not be renewed for another season. It has been really struggling in the ratings this season, averaging about 5.6 million viewers. Let’s just hope that Medium’s numbers when it returns will be good enough to convince NBC to resume production quickly so we can get a few more episodes, and hopefully at least one more season. It’s been doing better than it did last season, so maybe that’ll be good enough.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the strike is over by this time next week, if not sooner.

Okay, this BITES big time! Ausiello over at TVGuide has compiled a chart of which shows might return this season IF the strike is resolved this weekend (as many are predicting it will be). And as expected, all of the big shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters, and all of the CSIs are expected to churn out at least 4-5 more episodes. But according to Ausiello, (and this isn’t set in stone) the only NBC shows that are expected to go back into production right away are 30 Rock, The Office and Las Vegas, with most of the others being held till next season, or simply let slide away. The word on Medium is “no new episodes expected this season” beyond the six remaining to air. That sucks.
I hope that NBC has a change of heart soon and puts them back to work so we can get a few more eps. That would be great because knowing NBC’s track record with Medium, they’ll probably hold it until mid-season again next year. If they do, they’ll likely hear my screams of disappointment all the way to Hollywood.
But if this is true, it really sucks for the cast and crew who have been out of work for four months already. With the strike ending, they don’t even have the prospect of returning to work to look forward to. Darn that NBC and Ben Silverman.

All looks very good for an end to this freakin’ strike, but as to adding more shows this season? No, it won’t happen. Pilot season has already felt the hurt of the strike, and is very likely to be shortened, if not thrown out altogether. Since writers were given the heave-ho during the strike, all contracts cancelled, it remains to be seen just who has a job afterwards. I have great hopes for Medium, but only hope; I don’t know anyone who works on the show and don’t have any inside news, darn it! But over is over, and jobs will eventually begin again, and lord willin’ that means mine as well! I’m so dadgum sick and tired of this and am awaiting the good news for me and several friends. Fingers crossed, but it does look like a go for settlement. Did they get what they wanted? I still haven’t heard all the details myself, but am hopeful they got at least a little.

So looking forward to the next show and all others that remain. I really have missed this show!

Rachel, hope it does work out and you can get back to work soon.
It really sucks that the only NBC shows that are presumed to be set to go back to work are the ones OWNED by NBC, and none of the others that aren’t owned by NBC, are being given the go-ahead. But according to Ausiello, most of NBC’s shows are still in a “to be decided” mode, so maybe, (fingers crossed) they’ll decide to go ahead and film at least a couple more eps. (Really, is that so much to ask?)
But I guess, barring that, the best we can hope for is that they will bring it back next season. (Praying!!)

Let’s hope that THIS is more accurate than Ausiello’s report, because this is the kind of news I like to hear. The LA Times has their own chart of which shows are likely to return to work right away, and according to them, Medium is “likely to return with new eps in the spring.”

    Wouldn’t that be AWESOME??!!!
