Medium Episode 4.08 “Burn Baby Burn” Part 2 Open Mic

by Katelyn on March 17th, 2008

Finally! I feel like the past week has been three weeks long from all the waiting to find out whether the girl in the dentist chair lives, what the husband is doing hiding behind the door…but eventually it ended and now we get to find out the answers.

I have this incredible chocolate peanut butter pie and coffee or tea. I think there’s a bottle of decent red wine around here somewhere, too.

I think I’m going to call my dentist and cancel next week’s appointment…

Uncomfortable moment with the creepy DA guy.

Well, yeah. You’re her mother in law, not her husband. It is much easier to keep secrets from you than a spouse.

Ah ha! The poor man was set up by his scheming wife and boyfriend.

Tell us how you feel Devalos.

The psycho dentist. I think people who have been wondering about him killing the girl to set up a fake death for the supposed dead wife are right.

So, Allison is making up a fake man for Joe’s mother to avoid having him suspect cancer.

Hooray! Devalos has an innocent client.

Cynthia was a bit surprised about being hired by Allison.

I think the DA is about to get REALLY embarrassed.

That made me sooo happy. And then Lee is getting reassigned, which makes him happy.

Whoa. That is not the way Allison wanted to wake up.

I asked about it at the orientation.

(That cracks me up. Heaven orientation.)

And then the whole damn system would go to hell. Uh. Sorry.

Allison is lying her head off. Isn’t that sweet of her?

You’d think the angels would make that guy quit with the smoking, though.

Oh, wow. The next episode looks like it will be so good. And Cynthia Keener waking up and saying, “Suzie.” Heartbreaking.

Darnit!! My DVR screwed up again and didn’t record this episode! So now I have to wait until tomorrow to watch it at least, dangit! I’ll add my thoughts tomorrow after I’ve seen it. I’m going to go now. The next sound you hear will be the explosion as I blow up my DVR.

I FINALLY got to see this ep, and it was really good. A bit of letdown since everyone had pretty much already figured out that the wife and the dentist planned it together. I was hoping for more of a twist at the end but all in all, a very satisfying episode. Loved the story with Joe’s mom and Allison trying to keep her secret. You could tell that it was tearing Allison apart to hide this from Joe. I loved the dream when she woke up in the bed with Joe’s dad. How much do you love him? He is too cute. I wish they would have him on the show more often. My favorite scene was at the end when Allison told Joe’s mom about the dream. It was so sweet that she lied to her to make her feel better about going into the hospital. And the way she made up a “man” for Joe’s mom to throw off Joe’s suspicions. Allison was doing a lot of fibbing in this episode, lol. But it was all for a good reason, I guess. I loved the way Joe’s dad comforted her about it. “Don’t worry about it. I know people.” Lol!! Too funny! This was not the best ep of the season do far but it was still a great one. Very heartwarming and sad on many levels. Joe’s mom trying to protect him. Allison trying to protect her. Ariel lying to protect Owen from the truth about his mother. A great episode.
On another note, Medium ws up in the ratings this week, scoring 9.83M viewers, and winning its timeslot (beating CSI:Miami for the first time this season, and the premiere of The Bachelor), and it was second in the 18-49 demo, which is all fantastic news. That’s what the networks love, so maybe that bodes well for a pickup for a new season. Fingers crossed, everybody.

    Betty,
I think it may be gone for good. I did a pretty thorough search and when nothing came up I went through spam by spam and still couldn’t find you.

Katelyn, when are we gonna get some teasers for next week’s episode? There’s a great featurette on that one up at NBC. It looks like it’s gonna be a fun episode. Also, Kristin at Eonline says that next week’s episode is “Medium at its finest” (which is VERY unusual for her because she doesn’t like the show) and says it is must see TV.

    Dawn,
I’ll see if I can find anything besides the little blurb NBC has on the press site. I posted that way back in February. There has to be something new about it by now!

Kewl, Katelyn! I saw a couple of things posted at SpoilerTV, and the behind the scenes video at NBC, which is really cute. Can’t wait to see this one.

Oh my. I’m so sad I wanted to come onto this site for open mic, though I ended up staying at my cousins an extra day (Hehe, one day of school missed). I thought that episode was absolutely fantastic. Although, I’m getting really keen on piecing the puzzle together. About 10 minutes before that, I already had an almost dead on idea of how the hooker died. I knew that Ariel didn’t just ACCIDENTALLY see the Barcelona post card. It became so obvious once Ariel had the dream of the mother in Barcelona. Haha.

Anyways, what a great episode. I love how Ariel is becoming in tune with her powers (Well, she’s only like 2 years younger than me. I’m always gunna root for the kid psychics ! :D). I also REALLY loved the way Allison had told Joe that it might have been another man. That was so funny! I couldn’t stop laughing at how Joe just ate it up!

I also love the whole side story with Joe and his mom. I now notice that this season isn’t fully about Allison, but it’s also about her family. Which is so completely awesome. I mean, it still feels like we’re watching Allison, but now it feels like we’re also watching Ariel and Joe (Not so much Joe) sometimes, as well as the whole thing with Manny and detective Scanlon (Spelling? Not sure how to spell his name).
