Medium is a “Complete Cluster-Frak?”
I found this bizarre. Michael at TV Guide’s Ask Ausiello answers questions from TV viewers and every once in a while someone asks about Medium. This week, Kathy asked:
How come you never talk about Medium?— Kathy
Check out his response!
Ausiello: Couple reasons: first off, I don’t watch it. And secondly, in the words of one set-side source, the show is a “complete cluster-frak.” Apparently, script pages sometimes aren’t finalized until hours before it’s time to shoot them. As a result, no one knows in advance what is happening in any given scene, and, according to this source, it’s straining both the show’s budget and morale. Sounds like fun, eh?
Dude. Since when do you have to watch a show to report on it? Isn’t that why big companies like TVGuide have staff writers, to pick up the slack when the credited writer cannot be everywhere at once? (Didn’t I already talk about this subject on this blog? Why yes. Yes I did.)
More importantly, “cluster-frak?” I am shocked - SHOCKED - by this disturbing news. I do not want to hear my beloved show has morale problems. Is Patricia stressed out? Is Jake sad? Are Maria and Sofia feeling blue? NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo.
And if the show is having budget problems, that is not good news at all. The network already disrespects it enough to jack it all over the Primetime lineup. If Medium starts having budget problems, it could be the kiss of death. I AM SO WORRIED.
Okay, nobody panic. Who is this Michael Ausiello guy anyway? I read through the rest of the January 3, 2006, Q&A and came across this:
Question: This is not meant to be an insult or anything, but people are talking at work about your weight. I thought you should know. I know it would upset you if you knew, but I know some friends here and outside work that have used a program that worked within weeks. I am not pushing anything on you, but thought it wouldn’t hurt if you looked at it. I also think I am doing you a favor as it’s always nice when people talk about how much better you look than how much you’ve been putting on. I hope I am not intruding, just trying to help out. My cousin and friend used this, and it helped a lot. Here is the site.— Mark
Ausiello: Thanks for the heads-up, Mark. You’re right, this is extremely upsetting, although not entirely surprising. I noticed a lot of suspicious activity directed at me in recent weeks — everything from whispering to giggling to outright pointing and laughing. I just assumed my coworkers were planning a surprise birthday party for me, but, thanks to you, now I know the ugly truth. Sigh… it’s like high school all over again. (BTW, Mark, the link you sent me isn’t working. Are you sure the URL is correct? I’m totally open to this new diet, especially if it helped both your cousin and your one friend. Also, if you have any information on how I might obtain a lower mortgage or meet “sexy friends” in my area, please forward that along as well.)
So he is a pudgy guy with a sense of humor who writes about TV shows he does not necessarily watch.
Oh-kay. Take everything he says with a grain of salt. (And hope to hear more from the “one set-side source” very soon!)

Please, just let this be some fat guy who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. And who’s this “one set-side source?” Medium is my favorite show, I don’t know what I would do if it was going to get kicked off the air (by the way, all of the shows I watch get cancelled–I think I may be cursed). Please, please try to find the truth behind these claims (or lack thereof) and report back to us. I thought they were doing so well. I’M FREAKING OUT HERE!

ME TOO! I will see what I can find out but don’t hold your breath. If there really is trouble a-brewin’, I am guessing they are keeping a tight lid on it. I wonder if there have been any mysterious death’s of Medium crew since the “one set-side source” story leaked.
All of the shows I love get cancelled, too, but I refuse to believe we are cursed. We just have better taste than the unwashed masses, toward whom all television programming is slanted. ::sigh::
