As much as I love Detective Scanlon, and as much as I would love to see him get a little some-some with a woman I like and respect, I do not see him with Allison.
First and foremost, the show would die a painful death if they broke up Joe and Allison. Glenn Gordon Caron, the show’s creator, describes Medium as “a sneaky love story.” He is fascinated by the relationship between a woman who talks to dead people and a man of science. Me, too!
And really, Scanlon needs someone a little, I don’t know…dirty. Not like sex-worker dirty. More like dirt-under-your-fingernails dirty. Not literally (well, unless perhaps she is a master gardener), but someone who has seen as much as he has and lived through it, too.
But maybe you disagree. I have a poll in the works about what Scanlon’s love interest should do for a living (provided she is not the Deputy Mayor, of course), but I am having a tough time coming up with possible careers options. Got any ideas?

I still say the man is deep in love with Allison! If Jake decides to leave the show, that would pave the way for him. I’m just saying…..
Anyway, we need to send out letters to NBC urging them to renew Medium so we have many more episodes to drool over whoever you think is sexiest.

Omg, iv kinda always thought that there mighta been somma there, me & my sister thought it, but we thought that it was just us 2, i dont want her or Joe to break up, but i think it would be kinda cool, to see them have a little bit of something there, if you get me, i dont mean to the point of her cheating on Joe or anything like that, becuase if they did that the real Allison DuBios would be offended. But still they do have something and after that hug!! Enough said.. Hmm lol.

we all know Allison and Joe are married but what would happen if Allison and Scanlon started an affair. that would be something worth watching. i know its not going to happen but a girl can dream and hope. right?

Personally, I would puke and curse the writer who came up with the idea of Allison committing adultry. Isn’t if enough of that trash on other shows? True she has helped to solve crimes that involve adultry and murder (as in my fave this season The One Behind the Wheel) I would never expect her to stoop so low.
Allison’s connection with Joe is spiritual. They have amazing intimacy. So then, why taint something so beautiful for thrills? Dumb Idea.
I agree with Sheila that Scanlon needs a reformed bad girl.

As much as I like Lee and Allison together, they won’t end up together. The only way I can see of getting some action from the two is either in a dream or and undercover thing. The undercover assignment won’t happen because everyone has seen Allison’s face. However, if Allison and Joe’s marriage hits a rough spot and Joe gets jealous or something, he may have a nightmare involving an affair between the two of them.
