The DuBois household needs a pet. What should they get?
There is not enough chaos in the Dubois household. They need a pet. Pets, however, are a serious thing. The type of pet you choose often reflects who you are. For example, image a dog person. Now, imagine a snake person. Two very different people, no?
What sort of animal do you think would best fit in with the DuBois family? And who would be the real owner? You know there is only ever one owner. Often, it is the person who provides the food but not always. Who does the pet spend the most time with? Who does it seem happiest to be around? Joe? Allison? Bridgette?

Even though I think they already have enough chaos, I picked a talking bird and Bridgette would probably be the one taking care of it (everyone else seems too busy with other stuff to me). It was between that and a dog. I actually see a dog being more realistic, but wouldn’t a talking bird just be hilarious!

You’re right, Holly. I see them as dog people, and Bridget would probably be the one to claim it, but Allison would probably end up taking care of it, because, let’s face it, doesn’t the mom always end up taking care of the pets? But a talking bird would be hilarious, especially if it saw Allison talking to ghosts and started talking to it too. Or telling their guests about Allison’s ‘visitors’.

That’s a good thought Holly! That would be awfully funny.
I voted for dog - remember the ep where Bridgette brings home the dog who is dying? Joe spent a lot of time with that pet, but it was all Bridgette.
My daughter’s husband just brought her home a ferret because she always wanted one, but her dad would never let her have one. My ex made us get rid of the fish tank because it made noise. Same thing with the paraket. For some reason, he let her get an iguana much later - she named him Robert.
Anyway, cut to today and the ferret. With two boys 4 and 20 months, she quickly realized a ferret is not the way to go! It bit her hand and broke the skin. Plus their American Bulldog, Bruno, somewhere around 100-150 pounds, would probably have a field day chasing it. After an hour, she took it back to the pet store and begged them to take it back. They got a fish tank and some fish instead.

I think I’m the only one who picked fish … Picturing Bridget with a fish just cracks me up for some reason. Plus (not to be morbid, or anything, of course) if it dies, flushing it down the toilet would be an interesting event.

Well I say they need a cat. In fact, they need a dead cat. A dead cat that only Allison can see, and who shows up in times of danger to warn her.
I also feel that this cat should be named either Spook or Nick. Sheila, you’ve got an “in” with the producers….
