MED-058 Summary | All Episodes
LAWSUITS, BETRAYAL, MURDEROUS DREAMS AND ‘DEAL OR NO DEAL’?-NEVE CAMPBELL, JASON PRIESTLEY AND HOWIE MANDELL GUEST STAR IN THE SECOND OF A THREE EPISODE ARC — In part two, as the investigation of the awful murder of Walter Paxton’s (guest star Jason Priestley, “Beverly Hills, 90210″) wife continues, Allison (Patricia Arquette) deliberates over how to help Devalos (Miguel Sandoval) and Scanlon (David Cubitt) catch a serial killer and if she should tell her new friend Debra (guest star Neve Campbell, “Scream”) about her most recent disturbing dream. Meanwhile, still distraught over recent events at work, Joe (Jake Weber) debates taking part in a lawsuit against Aerodytech, the company he’s been loyal to for so many years.
So this is the Deal or No Deal episode! I am getting all worked up and excited. I hope Allison tells Debra about her dream. I hope Joe finds a good support group for victims of violent crime. I hope the Deal or No Deal clip was just a dream because - otherwise? - mortifying! Branded a cheater on national TV. How would Allison ever live it down?

I’m with you, Sheila. The more I hear about this one, the more excited I get about it. It sounds like they’re really pulling out all the stops for this season finale. I just hope it’s not the last one.
Darn NBC for keeping us in suspense. This is killin’ me!!

Ohh.. this sounds so good. It would be an interesting storyline if Allison told someone she basically just met about her dreams, especially if she is considering this person a friend. I also agree that the Deal or No Deal Part better be in a dream sequences, or it will just be way to weird.

The more I hear about the end of the season, the better it sounds. I really like the idea of a continuing story arc, even if it is a short one. That is the one thing that I think Medium might be lacking in. They could do more with seasonal plots.

This is what I love about the show. They aren’t afraid to experiment. Whether we are talking about a production in 3D or one with 2D Cartoons, Change in directorship like David Arquette or Miguel Sandoval. Medium is not more of the same over and over like many of the shows out there. Its always fresh and it portrays family life so beautifully.
I am looking forward to a 4th season.

Tom, I REALLY hope you’re right about a fourth season. I wish NBC would just go ahead and renew it and let us off the hook.
But you’re rigt about the show being inventive and creative, and not afraid to experiment. I also like some of the storylines they’ve done that have never been done, or couldn’t be done on another show, like the Allison/Sandra one. That’s one of the main reasons I keep watching, because it’s always entertaining and fresh and different.
I think this three-episode-story arc is another example of that, and I can’t wait for that. And I really hope they bring the show back for another season or two. It should be fun to see what else the writers can come up with, especially now that the girls are growing up and discovering their own abilities.

I haven’t had time to read all of the posts in other entries, but this 3, now 4, season arc really worries me. The arc storyline sounds great and I love the guest stars. However, it also sounds as if Allison may be outed as a psychic by her new friend Neve, leading to either a series ending or a new beginning for the show. I hope it means a new beginning and a season 4! NBC would be idiots to cancel this show.
Also, ITA this DoND crap better be a dream. Even if it isn’t, it irritates me. I’ve never watched DoND, and the only thing that would work for me is if one of the girls holding–are they numbered suitcases or briefcases?–opens the thing and a decapitated head or an arm or a leg or something of the sort falls/rolls out.

Those writers over at Medium are so darn creative! Yes, I hope the deal or no deal thing is merely a dream.
Ghost Whisperer is stealing the “We Had a Dream” storyline in a way - this week’s show Melinda finds someone who shares her ability to talk to dead people. What a ripoff! I’m sure it won’t be anywhere near Medium’s quality.
Keeping fingers and toes crossed for a 4th and 5th season - YES, I said a 5th season, too!
What really makes me mad is NBC has already ordered another season of The Apprentice! Does anybody even care about that show anymore?

I’m with nansee. An outing or a spinoff would be very exciting, but would it risk the integrity of the show?
It’s an interesting problem no doubt, however, Medium should proceed to the next level. If the writing stays as great as it has been in the last several shows, we shouldn’t worry.
I’ve really enjoyed the last few episodes. The prospect of a 3 story arc into the season closer is going to be soooo good. I can’t wait!
