My Medium Predictions for 2007
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Oh wait, I already said that in my last post. Okay, Happy Birthday Mom! There, that’s better.
Now that it is 2007, we should make some predictions, no? I have no idea what will really happen to Allison and her cohorts this year. I do, however, know what I would like to see happen:
- Detective Lee Scanlon is hospitalized for sex addiction.
- D.A. Manuel Devalos finds out he has a 25 year old daughter he never knew about…and she is a stripper.
- Deputy Mayor Lynn DiNovi is assassinated while running for City Counsel after word gets out she slept with Scanlon, a lowly laborer.
- Joe and Allison realize the world will not come crashing to an end if their girls spend afternoons alone at home until their parents return from work, in true latchkey-kid fashion. In fact, they find it helps the girls learn to be more independent and do things like pour their own cereal and do laundry.
- Ariel gets a boyfriend. And boobs.
- Bridgette sees lots more dead people.
- Marie begins to talk and Joe and Allison discover, much to their horror, that she can read minds.

Those are great ideas for the show. I don’t know, I just think they need to grab some of the story lines they started in the pilot (like Scanlon and the Deputy Mayor and Devalos and his diabetes)–what did they do with that–squat right now! Also more kids and continue with that married couple relationship–these are some of my favorite parts of the show. They need some story lines that exist outside of one episdoe–that would make me so happy. This show is so great; some episodes are better than others, and I know I’d like some more of those “better than others” episodes in 2007.

LOL these are great. We can only hope #s 1 and 2 aren’t combined ;) I’d be amused, though.
I’d love it if Marie turned out be a powerful little thing.
I agree that ep arcs would work well on this show. It needs a little continuity boost. SOmetimes I feel as if the writers of one ep either don’t pay attention or don’t agree with the plotlines or character development on a previous ep. However, I still love it and am excited to see it in ‘07!

Holly: I know! The only thing going on between Scanlon and DiNovi is a bad attitude and they only mentioned Devalos’ diabetes once, briefly, blink and you would’ve missed it, in the second or third episode this season.
Nansee: Heh. I totally didn’t put #1 and #2 together…but what a great idea!
