Once in a Blue Moon…

by Katelyn on May 28th, 2007

Blue MoonThis article on Yahoo News made me wonder what kind of dreams Allison would have on Thursday…

Thursday, May 31 brings us the second of two full Moons for North Americans this month. Some almanacs and calendars assert that when two full Moons occur within a calendar month, that the second full Moon is called the “Blue Moon.”

Seriously, can you imagine the chaos in her dreams? Not only that, ask almost any law enforcement or emergency professional about working during a regular full moon and they will tell you that every nutcase on earth is out. So, how much worse are blue moons? I guess we’ll have to watch the news Friday to find out!

My sister is a pharmacist and says the kooky people come out on the full moon. Or maybe people just get kooky with a full moon. She will think to herself, “Gosh we’ve had a bunch of kooks today. What is going on?” Then she will look at the calendar and say, “Ah, full moon. It all makes sense now.”

Its funny, I have noticed the same thing with eratic driving. There have been a number of times I have been driving and see some bonehead manuever and say to myself, must be a full moon. Then later on in the same evening, I look up an sure enough, a full moon.

Since the moon does control the tides, its not much of a stretch to believe it can control people too.

I’ve with worked with the public for years and always have seen the wackos, weirdos, and just about any kind of strange things come with a fool moon!

That would make a good episode in our group episode fun - sorry I haven’t been able to do much with it yet, May is one of my busiest months of the year - no time to concentrate.
