Yay! Open Mic Night! I’m going to try to stay later because I don’t have to wake up at a horrible hour tommorow. I’m really looking forward to tonight’s episode. It looks so good.

Hope everyone was able to catch the Patricia Arquette interviews on Letterman, Today and the View.

I was totally disappointed in the Today interview and that is her own station NBC. They interviewed her in the street.

I think the View really did the best job interviewing Patricia and she looked great. What a beautiful woman inside and out.

If I had to rate the interviews I would say,

    The View - No 1
    Letterman - No 2
    Today - No 99

See you all tonight, enjoy the show, I can’t wait.

Hey Everyone! Wow, it’s a relief not to be the first poster for a change. I agree with Tom’s assessment of the interviews with Patricia Arquette.

OK, virtual Margaritas on the rocks and frozen with/or without salt will be at the ready for tonight’s episode.

Chocolate anyone? Brownies? Dawn are you in for your usual salsa and chips or something new this week?

Sheila what are you bringing to the table this week?

Can’t wait to find out what the Mars project is all about. . . .

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 2:52 pm

I, too, agree with how you rated the interviews, Tom. I really enjoyed watching The View and Letterman interviews, but that Today interview shows that NBC has no respect for their own shows. That just irritates me so much. But, what can you do? I guess just look forward to the episode on tonight!

Hey, everybody, it’s Wednesday again! YEAA! My favorite night of the week. I am so psyched about tonight. New eps, yea!!

Betty: I’m in, but I think I’m in the mood for something different tonight. How about an onion blossom with honey mustard sauce?

Tom & Holly: You are so right about those interviews, though I think my favorite was Letterman. Those women on the View were like a bunch of cackling hens and Patricia could barely get a word in egewise. It really is shameful the way NBC has treated this show and its stars this year. I’m beginning to think they really have no plans to renew it so they’re just not trying to promote it. If that’s the case, I hope the rumors about CBS waiting to pick it up are true.

Brownies…yum! I am bringing Spinach Dip in a sourdough bread bowl and sliced baquette for dipping/slathering. I use the recipe on the back of the Knorr Vegetable Soup mix box. It is divine.

I’m on my way home. Enjoy the dip and I’ll see you in an hour or so.

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 6:05 pm

Yum… I do love chocolate, especially in brownies. And I have a special fondness for onion blossoms, but I’m willing to try a little bit of everything! Yay Wednesdays!

I just read a summary for the episode in 2 weeks (”1-900-LUCKY”) and it turns out that that is the episode that David directed. Also, it seems that Michael’s going to be working as one of those phone psychics. Weird, but totally interesting.

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 6:12 pm

Here’s a link to the actual summary.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 6:37 pm

Yeah, I saw a summary at TVguide and it did sound a little weird. It makes me wonder if we’ll see much of Patricia in that episode. I did notice on the View that they showed several pics of her and David. And I saw another pic that looked like maybe they had done an inteview together. Wonder if NBC will post that on their website. Oh, and I think I read that another of my favorite actors will be on tonight’s ep. Robert Beltran from St:Voyager. He’s cute too. But I still prefer Jake Weber.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 7:35 pm

Hi all! Is there any onion blossom left? I’m starving!

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 7:37 pm

Saved the last petals for you, Sheila.

    Got any spinach dip left?
You know what is really good with that? Hawaiian sweet bread. Delicious.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 7:43 pm

Oh excellent. Mmfph. Sohhy..tohkin wi mu mouf ful.

    *swallow*

Plenty o’ spinach dip fer the askin. I have never tried it with sweet bread. A new discovery!

I have not yet watched any of Patricia’s interviews. Better go fire up the Tivo.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 7:49 pm

Watching the Letterman interview now. Soooooooo, she was going to quit the show if the real Allison DuBois told her she was going to die soon, was she?

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 7:50 pm

Definitely watch them and let us know what you think. We’ve all voiced our opinions. I’m still at work so I haven’t gotten to see the show yet. Anxiously waiting.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 7:51 pm

Um, is she there to promote her show or HER BROTHER DAVID’S MOVIE “THE TRIPPER?”

She mentioned the premiere date twice, so far.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 7:52 pm

Yea, that was pretty interesting. I had read that a while back. She said she would take her kids to an island somewhere and spend her remaining days with them. Sounds like a good way to go.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:02 pm

Okay, done with the Letterman interview. It was good! She is so personable and funny.

Just finished the Today interview, also. She was wearing the same outfit she wore on Letterman, with a coat over the top. I always forget those “late night” shows are really taped during normal hours. She probably just walked across the street from one interview to the next.

I hope she isn’t there all alone. She said her hubby is traveling.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:03 pm

    Hi Everyone,

What a fantastic episode. Next week coming attractions look great too. These shows keep on getting better and better.

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:04 pm

Just got done watching the ep and must say that it is FANTASTIC! Another great job by the writers. I didn’t even see that coming! The Joe/Mars story line is excellent. And the last line was genious. I won’t spill any more beans, but it is worth the wait. Not my favorite, but still pretty great, with some nice lines thrown in there. Even next week’s preview looks awesome. I love Medium!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:05 pm

    Argh! The jealousy consumes me.

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:06 pm

I totally agree with you Tom. I don’t want to give anything away to those who arn’t as fortunate as us to have alread seen it, but I really want to talk about it. Well, maybe tommorow.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:07 pm

Holly great minds think alike. And yes Bridget stole the show. lol

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:09 pm

I stand corrected. Patricia was wearing the same NECKLACE for all three interviews, but only the same dress for the two daytime shows.

    Not like you care.

And DAMN, those are some tall shoes!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:11 pm

Watching The View interview. Just found out Joy Behar likes phone sex.

I could have gone my entire life not having that information and I would have been Just Fine.

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:11 pm

I know what you mean about her promoting her brother’s film more than her show. I mean, I’m glad she’s proud of her brother’s work, but come on, lets talk about Medium, you know, the show she is actually on!

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:13 pm

I was glad to read somewhere today that Patricia is on the short side. I am the shortest person among all of my friends, and they like to tease me endlessly. Shorter girls really can succeed. Go Patricia!

  • Holly
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:17 pm

Well, as much as I really would like to stay up with you all, I really must go to bed. I can’t wait to read what you all have to say tommorow!

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:19 pm

She is 5 feet 1 inch tall and just goes to show you that great things come in small packages.

In her interview when she was talking about her 4 year old and 18 year old we could all bond with her because she faces the same struggles all parents do. She is so down to earth probably why I feel like she is one of us if you know what I mean.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:19 pm

    G’nite Holly!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:23 pm

Here is a link to Patricia Arquette’s interview on Today in case you missed it. I will post it in a regular blog post tomorrow but you get first dibs if you are here for Open Mic Night. Whee!

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:31 pm

One of the perks for being here for Open Mic Night

    Night Holly

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:34 pm

Patricia Arquette radio interview she gave while on her way to doing The View. Her part starts about a third of the way in.

In it, she says she is also doing Rachel Ray while she is in New York.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:43 pm

Dang, we missed it! Patricia Arquette did a meet-and-greet this morning in NY. Hope you NY fans got to see her.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:46 pm

She said in the radio interview she is making the rounds to also promote her brother David’s Indy flick, so that explains her…promoting her brother David’s Indy flick.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:50 pm

Sheila - If I would have known she was doing a meet and greet, I would have been there. That store is only about 40 miles from where I live. grrrrrr

That radio interview was great. I looked in the newspaper this morning to see if she was on any other shows, and rachel ray didn’t list her. Was it televised today? Do you have a link to that?

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:53 pm

Tom: I can’t find anything on the Rachel Ray interview. I wonder if it was a drop-in. Sorry about no notice on the meet-and-greet. It didn’t show up in my feed reader until today. Double grrr.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 8:59 pm

Sheila, you’re killin’ me! I am dyin’ to hear all those interviews. And you have to tell me when she’s on Rachel Ray. MAN, I wish I had been in NY this morning. I would have loved to been at a meet-n-greet with her.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 9:33 pm

I guess most of the people who are on here must be watching it now. It really was a great episode tonight.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 9:34 pm

No mention even on the Rachel Ray Show website. Weird.

Okay, so you who have seen tonight’s episode, is it scary? Do I need my blankie?

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 9:37 pm

You might need your blankie for one short moment. But other then that enjoy the brilliant writing, directing and acting. And Bridgets last comment, brought a smile.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 9:41 pm

I do not do suspense very well. Give me blood and gore any day over suspense.

Now where did I put my blankie…

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 9:48 pm

Oh,my God, that was sooo good.

Sorry I haven’t said anything, Tom, but I couldn’t tear myself away from the show.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 9:59 pm

Sheila, thanks for the link to that radio interview. That was cool.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:02 pm

    It’s Chakotay!

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:02 pm

I read he was gonna be on here, but I never would have recognized him.

    Great opening!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:02 pm

Did you know he felt demeaned by his role on Star Trek:Voyager? Maybe not demeaned, but he did feel sci fi was beneath him.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:03 pm

Really? I loved him on that show.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:04 pm

    Did Tom leave?

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:07 pm

I read that in an old Star Trek mag that I probably still have around here somewhere because I am a huge Star Trek fan from way back to the original series.

    Dorkus StarTrekus.

Hey! Robert Beltran grew up in Bakersfield California and graduated from Fresno State. I live in Fresno.

Woo-hoo! A shirtless (and buff!) Joe.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:10 pm

    Allison Dubois has spoken!

    Haha!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:10 pm

    Maybe Tom went to bed.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:10 pm

Joe is looking pretty hot, iddn’t he?

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:11 pm

Maybe he couldn’t stay up this late. We are on the East coast, y’know?

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:13 pm

    Cagey, inscrutable Joe Dubois. Hmmm.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:14 pm

    That’s gonna leave a mark!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:15 pm

I can’t believe you guys stay up this late. You are animals.

    Yeah, ouch!

And Jolly Vampira is creeping me out.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:16 pm

    Tom zoned out. lol

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:17 pm

I am glad she didn’t tell Devalos about her dream. Not the best time to say, hey, I dreamed about your dead priest friend but sorry, he doesn’t have a message for you.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:17 pm

There you are, Tom. I was afraid you’d given up and gone to bed. I wouldn’t blame you if you did, though.

Sheila, I’m a nite owl. What can I say?

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:18 pm

Sheila: You’re right. I don’t think she should have told him about the dream either.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:20 pm

    Ooh, shades of Linda Blair!

    I love Joe’s line.

Said the psychic who talks to ghosts. HA!

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:20 pm

Must be all that nervous energy you have

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:21 pm

You’re right, Tom. I’m always wired at this time of night.

    Pritchard! I love that!

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:22 pm

    It’s Dharma’s mom! Lol.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:23 pm

I am sure this doesn’t mean anything, nope not a thing, but the woman playing the mom often plays a Bad Guy.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:24 pm

I remember her as the crazy hippie mom from Dharma and Greg. She is a great comic actress.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:24 pm

OMG I forgot she was Dharma’s mom! She seems a bit less hippie here.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:25 pm

    Definitely less hippie.

Ouch! A wooden bookend. Told you it would leave a mark.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:25 pm

I don’t think Jolly Vampira did it. Oh wait, who am I talking to? You two already KNOW who did it!

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:26 pm

Don’t worry, Sheila. We won’t let it slip.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:28 pm

    OMG, that was FREAKY!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:28 pm

    AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Um, Tom? That was the blankie part, wasn’t it?

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:29 pm

Are you okay, Sheila? Has your heart started beating again?

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:30 pm

I bet that was the part tjat I told Sheila she would need her blanky for

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:31 pm

    Yep, you’re right, Tom.

I had to get my blankie and teddy too.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:32 pm

Tom, I think we lost Sheila.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:33 pm

    This girl is ka-raazzyy.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:36 pm

Yep, typical girl. lol only kidding

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:37 pm

No, no, I’m here. I was engrossed in the show.

And I dropped my blankie so I had to scramble around to find it.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:37 pm

    Allison’s a security risk?

    Gee, who’d a thunk it?

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:39 pm

    Is he having an affair?

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:39 pm

Oh, how sweet. Allison just knew the first time he took her home that she had to marry him.

    Ain’t love wunerful?

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:40 pm

Darling? I knew that blonde was too perky and helpful to be a good guy!

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:40 pm

I knew there was something hinky about that husband.

    He looks too perfect.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:41 pm

I like the part where she was his lunch box and decided she had to sleep with him.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:41 pm

er…SAW. If she WAS his lunch box, I imagine that would be mighty uncomfortable.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:42 pm

Wasn’t that sweet? And he’s telling her about rockets and she’s falling in love with him.

I wonder if they’ll ever do a show about when they first met.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:43 pm

Wasn’t that romantic??? Allison must have been a tigress when she was in college. That blonde who plays her from time to time doesn’t seem like a tigress

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:43 pm

Oh, I get it! The two pieces of candy she is allowed to have every day. And the priest ate one of little hallucinogenic devils.

I hate it when I figure it out ahead of time.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:44 pm

But WHY? Philladering husband needs to get his hands on rich wife’s money and can only do that if she is institutionalized?

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:45 pm

The horse is already dead! Lol!I love that!

  • Jenn Bo
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:46 pm

Um, I’m joining really late. I must confess that I’m still working and, thus, NOT watching the ep.

Just wanted to say “hi” and “wish I were watching, too”

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:47 pm

Tom: Based on what we’ve heard about Allison’s past so far, I’d have to agree with you.

Yes, alright, I’ll tell you. My wife’s a psychic.
    She knows everything.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:47 pm

    Hey, Jenn-Bo, you’re missing a good one.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:48 pm

And the truth shall set you free!

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:49 pm

I really don’t trust that husband.

  • Jenn Bo
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:51 pm

I double checked to make sure the DVR is recording, so I’ll catch up tomorrow.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:52 pm

Sheila, did you lose your blankie again?

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:53 pm

You are getting close to Bridgets great line

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:54 pm

    Hi JennBo!

That security interviewer? No way would they have 1) given him a second chance at the test, and 2) brushed off his ‘my wife is a mind reader’ statement. It is the government. They are uber-paranoid.

My brother had to go through government vetting and they talk to EVERYONE you know. It’s scary.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:55 pm

    I loved Scanlon’s line.

Good thing I picked up a psychiatrist on the way over here.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:57 pm

    LSD. Of course!

And that’s why the Father saw the bed floating.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:59 pm

    Bridget’s line was the best!

OOH, that preview looks REALLy GOOd!!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 10:59 pm

HAHAHAHAHA! That was indeed a great line for Bridgette.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:00 pm

And Allison calling her girls ‘you little security risks’

    Hilarious!!

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:00 pm

Can’t wait for next week! That ep looks awesome!

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:01 pm

Well regardless of my figuring it out ahead of time, and being a giant party-pooper and spoiling it for any lurkers who were reading along in the comments but who had not already watched the show once tonight (uh, sorry), I rather enjoyed this episode.

Not a whole heck of a lot of Robert Beltran, though. I thought we would see more of him.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:03 pm

    Glad you enjoyed it Sheila

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:03 pm

It was a good one, I thought. They’re definitely keeping it interesting this season. It’s never dull, that’s for sure.

  • Sheila
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:03 pm

How can they be so sure Jolly Vampira will make a full recovery? I thought LSD was a tricky little bugger, as drugs go. Some people never quite came out of the 70’s mentally.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:04 pm

Glad you could stay with us, Tom. I wonder where everyone else was tonight.

Sheila, any luck on getting Patricia to join us one night? Lol.

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:06 pm

I don’t know, Sheila. I don’t know much about LSD. But I guess we’ll know if she starts seeing demons again.

  • Tom
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:06 pm

It was my pleasure. What else would I be doing now. lol

  • Dawn
    Mar 28, 2007 at 11:07 pm

    Uh, sleeping?

  • Sheila

Are you two still awake? Good grief.

I am a slacker and have not made the query about Patricia joining us one night. But I will. All they can say is no. Or ignore my email altogether. What is to lose?

I am off to bed, peeps. See you next week, if not sooner. Same bat time, same bat channel.

    Tom, you flatter me.

Really, I don’t work. I just go in and sit around playing on the computer and get paid for it. What a life.

    Lol. You know I’m kiddin’,right?

Rachael ray is pre-recorded and not live (Like Martha), so the episode could air anytime after this week (hopefully next week).
I have been a fan of Rachael Ray since her 30 minute meals show began (2001?), and have been a Patricia fan since 1991, so this is a HUGE treat for me.
I love how both of my “underdogs” have had huge recognition and fame in the apst couple years. I know how to pick ‘em!

At last I can finally tell you all what I thought about the episode. I am really bad at not spilling the beans. First off, I didn’t figure out it was the candies until the end, and when they revealed it I felt quite ashamed at myself for not picking that one up. Then, however unrealistic, I really liked the lie detector scenes with Joe. That was nicely done, even if it wouldn’t happen in real life. I hope they don’t forget about his top secret project in future episodes! I also really enjoyed getting more information about when Allison and Joe met. So romantic! I totally agree that they should do a whole episode about it. And then, Bridgette stole the show with her last line. How cute. Great episode.

I’m glad to hear that I didn’t miss her on Rachael Ray. Well, I’m off to listen to that radio interview!

Oh my gosh! Last summer I went on vacation to New York City and I went into the store where Patricia did her meet and greet. Isn’t it weird when you have been to a place and then it comes back up in an unexpected way? I was just getting into Medium when I went on that trip, so I didn’t buy any Medium stuff but I think they has some. That’s just weird.

Holly for some reason I thought you lived in New York. If I had some notice there was going to be a meet and greet I would have definitely taken a ride that store is about 40 miles from where I live. Hopefully next time there will be some more notice.

NBC is scheduled to announce their lineup for next season on May 14th in NYC. With any luck, assuming Medium gets picked up(fingers crossed), there will be another opportunity to see Patricia. I’m keeping my eyes opened and my fingers crossed.

No, Tom, I live in Indiana. Still Eastern time zone, but barely. Not that far away by plane, but it’s too far just for an out of the blue roadtrip! And Dawn, I have my fingers crossed, too.

Thanks for the Spinach Dip Sheila - it was delish!

Good ep, except ya’ll probably know what I’m gonna say - NOT ENOUGH SCANLON! Although he did have good lines in the - what was it maybe 4 lines he had to say?

I knew something was hinky with the husband - I just knew it would play out that way even when he appeared to be the perfect spouse.

    Lyin, cheating, dogs!

Road trip! I’m in! We’ll have to start at least a week ahead of time, what with Sheila coming from the West Coast and all! Ha!

Oh, forgot to add this, that woman may have been zonked out on the LSD, but she called it right when she called her doctor a ho! They just thought she didn’t know what was going on.

In my estimation, the points for an episode of Medium automatically go up when Di Novi isn’t listed as a guest star.

Holy smokes, 134 posts? Sorry I missed it, but things conspired, as they often do. It’s still fun to read back on the discussion though. I’m making it a point to make the next Open Mic Night.
