by Sheila on April 4th, 2007

It is Wednesday and you know what that means…

Open Mic Night at Medium Dreams!

Now let us put all our differences aside and have a party in the comments. I promise not to mention teeth if you promise not to mention teeth, okay?

Let us talk about this week’s new episode Joe Day Afternoon instead. It’s Joe! In a hostage situation! Aack!

See you soon.

    Hi Everyone,

Really looking forward to this episode tonight. Coming attractions promise that this is really going to be a great show tonight. Can’t wait, 6 hours to go.

Hey, everybody, it’s Wednesday again. YAY! I can’t wait til tonight. This looks like a REALLY good episode. If you haven’t seen it yet, NBC FINALLY put up a behind the scenes clip for tonight’s ep. Looks exciting. See you tonight.

Yippee! Wednesday and New Medium day!

I think we should have wine coolers tonight for a change and diet beer.

    Sheila, any more spinach dip?

Dawn, what kind of virtual snack will you bring?

Remember, adult beverages, even virtual ones, are for folks 21 and over!

Yum, I think I will add some of Papasitos tortilla chips which are so good, they are almost like desert!

I sure hope Scanlon gets a big part in tonight’s ep - so far this year they have managed not to shut him out of any episodes alltogether, although he may have had only 4 or 5 lines, at least he was in the ep. Last season he wasn’t even in 2 or 3 eps at all. Seeing as this is a hostage situation which calls for police action, I hope they use him.

Sheila, I’m not sure you should have any alcohol tonight after reading your blog post! Ha!

    *Passes the spinach dip*

I have to practice my recipe. I am in charge of spinach dip for the family Easter get-together.

I am drinking ouzo tonight but I do not expect anyone to join me, though you are most welcome to do so. It tastes like black liquorice. Ouzo No. 12 is my favorite. Most people find it revolting. I will try not to breathe my black licorice ouzo breath on you tonight.

Here is a link to the behind-the-scenes video for tonight’s show Dawn mentioned: link.

Oh niiiiiice…I just had to rescue MYSELF from the spam filter. Probably cuz I am posting from work. (Shhhhh…don’t tell the big kahunas.)

OK Sheila, only 13 more days of tax season! We’re here for you in the meantime. How’s your neck?

I was in a play once where they talked about and drank vodka stingers, so at our cast party, someone made vodka stingers - I thought they tasted like cough syrup! YUK!

You know how on Sex and the City they always drank Cosmopolitans? I tried one of those once, too and thought it was vile. Must be an acquired taste. Too bad, it’s a pretty drink.

Just give me a margarita, glass of wine, or a beer any day and I’ll be happy.

OMG! I almost forgot the chocolate - MUST HAVE chocolate.

OK, who brought the blooming onion last time? Wasn’t that Sheila?

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 4:26 pm

Not sure if I got caught by the spam filter, or if my phone just doesn’t play well with the site, but what I was going to say is…

That’s a clever episode title, and based on the previews, this is shaping up to be another really good episode. I’m curious to see if Allison dreams about the standoff ahead of time, but Joe ignores the warning.

The writing and acting just get better and better and the waiting in anticipation of the next episode is greater and greater.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 4:48 pm

Betty: Nope, I wasn’t bloomin’ onion gal. I think it was Dawn. My neck is getting better, thank you. You read my personal blog, you sneaky devil. Er, devilette.

Brett: You’re not in the spaminator. It is a groovy title. Adam Goldberg is so good an angst. They should have cast him as Marvin in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. But wait, I adore Alan Rickman, so scratch that.

I’ll make a note, no posting here from the phone. Is the personal blog you are talking about the GetSheila link on the right? Or is there another double secret Sheila site out there somewhere that I’m missing out on?

My personal blog is at http://geckobrothers.com but before you go there, I have to warn you that there might be nudity (don’t worry, it’s not me), foul language, and spoilers. :D

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 6:25 pm

Yep, GetSheila is me. I have just added geckobrothers to my feed reader. Looking forward to the inner workings of your mind, oh great one.

    Commercial is on.

This is the best show yet. Gotta get back to it!!!

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 7:32 pm

D’oh! So THAT’S why it’s so quiet. You’re all watching the show!

  • Kerri
    Apr 4, 2007 at 7:32 pm

Dang it, Sheila!!! I’m really not happy that you got me hooked on this show. I think I just about jumped out of my skin in that last segment. Aaaaahhhh!!!!! :P

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 7:35 pm

Hey, nice to see you feeling better Kerri. Or at least good enough to sit upright enough to type. Hee!

  • Kerri
    Apr 4, 2007 at 7:39 pm

I know. I’m such a whiner, aren’t I? Feeling much better, thanks. :) I’m supposed to be “working” here, but now I’m all caught up in the show!!!

  • Dawn
    Apr 4, 2007 at 7:39 pm

Okay, who’s mixing tonight? I need a DRINK!

Make it a double and have it waiting for me when I get home.

Betty, I think I’ll bring a seven-layer Mexican dip to go with your tortilla chips.

    See you soon.

  • Dawn
    Apr 4, 2007 at 7:41 pm

Man, this ep sounds Great! I can’t wait to get home and see it.

Don’t anybody spoil it for me please.

  • Dawn

Its over, what a great episode.

There is no way that Medium is in jeopardy of being renewed. It is impossible.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 8:26 pm

Ooh, I can’t wait! Bah on the time difference. BAH.

  • Kerri
    Apr 4, 2007 at 8:35 pm

    I know something you don’t know…. ;) :D

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 8:38 pm

The west coast delay torments me as well Sheila. Although, Friday Night Lights is great tonight as well.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 8:45 pm

Kerri: You are an evil wench.

Brett: Just caught up on your personal blog. How did you resist the urge to growl at the kid in the grocery store and making him pee on the floor in terror?

  • Kerri
    Apr 4, 2007 at 8:53 pm

Yes, but you already knew that, now, didn’t you? ;) And on that note, I’ll try to NOT go and have any freaky dreams that make me sit bolt upright in the middle of the night causing Bald Man to have a heart attack. Seriously, I don’t know how her hubby hasn’t been driven to anxiety attacks, yet. :P Enjoy the show! :)

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 8:53 pm

I’m the biggest softy in the world when it comes to little kids. Lucky for me most of them don’t realize the ease with which I can be wrapped around their little fingers. My nieces have that figured out though.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:05 pm

Heheh, yes Kerri, but it was fun to say it out loud. Glad you watched tonight! Um, I hereby proclaim you will NOT have bad dreams. *waves magic wand*

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:06 pm

Brett: I have discovered that the biggest, hairiest, tattooiest, scariest looking men and the biggest softies EV-AR. Hm…camouflage?

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:39 pm

Heh. The Nissan Altima commercial with the psychics in the car just came on. How appropriate.

  • Dawn
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:40 pm

    Hi, guys, I’m back.

Just one question. Who’s got the booze?

  • Dawn
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:41 pm

Sheila, you guys are in for a treat! This ep was AWESOME! I’m gonna have to watch it again with you. It was SOOO good.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:47 pm

Ouzo No. 12. ‘Tis not for sissies.

  • Dawn
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:48 pm

Sheila, maybe you better cut back and save some for the show.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 9:52 pm

I’m exhausted. Why on earth did I choose to write about a show that comes on at TEN PM? I was obviously insane at the time.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:00 pm

    DRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:04 pm

It must be hard walking around with a big hole in your head.

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:05 pm

It could be worse, you could have chosen to write about a show on at 8 on Tuesday, and one on at 10 on Wednesday. Then the network could have put them both on the same night when they made a schedule change. :D

Also, she did have a dream about it, kind of, and Joe ignored the warning. What was he thinking?

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:08 pm

    Hey, he drives a Prius!

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:13 pm

Larry Miller is so good as an asshole, isn’t he?

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:14 pm

Yes, that’s a good bit of casting there.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:16 pm

Yeah! Why didn’t Allison tell Joe the details of her dream so he would have a better sense of the danger? Argh!

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:27 pm

Not Aaron with the kid who runs around the livingroom like an airplane!

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:27 pm

Ahhh, I do believe that is the scene Kerri was talking about earlier.

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:28 pm

Holy crap! And I’m not talking about Ariel’s wonderbra, but seriously, who is doing wardrobe for that kid? Seriously though, didn’t see that one coming.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:28 pm

Is it too much to ask for an ending where Pam wakes up to find Bobby in the shower?

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:32 pm

That reference was too obscure for the young’uns, wasn’t it?

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:35 pm

Probably. You might have to modernize your Patrick Duffy references to Step By Step to draw that youth market. :D

  • Dawn
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:41 pm

    Sheila

I loved that Pam and Bobby line. That was great.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:47 pm

And here comes Ariel to save the daaaaaaaay.

    *cue Canadian Mountie music*

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 10:48 pm

Do Canadian Mounties still wear jodhpurs? I have always wondered.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 11:02 pm

    Larry Miller, slimeball and hero.

Or whatever his character’s name was.

  • Brett
    Apr 4, 2007 at 11:02 pm

The last time I was in Canadia the RCMP looked pretty much like standard cops anywhere. And speaking of cops, how do you have a hostage situation on this show without Scanlon?

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 11:04 pm

But hey, does this mean his wife won’t get the money? They still won’t know where it comes from before it gets to the Cayman Islands. Terminal crazy man dies before pain sets in. Horrible bossman redeems himself in death. Joe and Pregnant Woman get to live. EVERYBODY WINS!

Oh, except Aaron. Maybe he’ll haunt Joe now.

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 11:05 pm

OMG what an oversight. Where WAS Scanlon? Away on vacation? Training with the FBI at Quantico?

  • Sheila
    Apr 4, 2007 at 11:17 pm

G’nite my peeps. Looking forward to Brett’s review tomorrow.

  • Brett
    Apr 5, 2007 at 12:08 am

G’nite Sheila. Thanks for open mic night.

  • Betty
    Apr 5, 2007 at 9:11 am

I’m devasted. NO SCANLON! How could they? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

That’ll knock two points off my score for tonight’s ep.

At least they didn’t go with the old ploy of having the pregnant woman go into labor!

Good episode. Liked the way they worked Ariel into it with her feelings and going to the principal. Way to get tough Ariel! Great they used the same actor to play the principal as the one in Be Kind Rewind.
