Open Mic Night at Medium Dreams
It is Wednesday and you know what that means…
Open Mic Night at Medium Dreams!
Come on by and yak with us about this week’s episode The One Behind the Wheel. Sure it is a repeat, but it is the one where Allison thinks she is a hoochie-mama named Sandra.
Okay, not really a hoochie-mama. Just a spoiled rich woman who likes to display her cleavage. And therefore Allison’s. Fun!
I am taking the day off for a much needed break after tax season (I am an accountant) but I will be here at 10:00PST. Meanwhile, I know you will talk amongst yourselves.
Tonight’s drink is Margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim. Spinach dip to start. What did you bring?
See you soon.

OK, you’ve got the Margaritas covered, so I’ll bring brownies again - gotta have some chocolate, don’t cha know!
This is such a good episode. Scanlon has some really great lines - the deal about “Saundra/Allison” “so convincing the police didn’t know whether to arrest her or the maid - the maid had ID.” LOL!
God Bless Scanlon for being the calm in the eye of the storm - notice how calm, cool, and collected he is in the interrogation room?
Really funny and touching all at the same time! One of the BEST episodes of the year.
Get some well deserved rest, Sheila!

Just for fun, anyone care to wager a bet on why David Arquette is dressing so much more mature and stylish now?
His attire used to consist of wildly patterned things with bright colors - oh yes, no pattern was off limits for mixing with another. Really crazy stuff - something like a clown might wear in the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus! Really - it was that bad.
Do you think it’s because:
a) he’s married to Courtney Cox
b) he’s a dad now
c) he’s just older and more mature
d) he wants to be taken seriously now that he is directing

Just checking in, hope to see you all later. This is one of my favorite episodes. I have soooo many.
Oh and Betty, ask Dawn, she met David this week at his movie premiere.

Okay, I’m in for chips and salsa. Make my margarita frozen with extra salt, please, Sheila.
Betty, I actually think it’s a combination of all of the above. When I get the pictures back, I’ll share them with you, but he was dressed very conservatively when I met him. I think he is seriously trying to present a mature image in order to get people to take him seriously as a director. I read an interview with David yesterday and he said that he actually has an obsession with costumes. Interesting hobby, isn’t it?
I can’t wait for this episode. This is my absolute favorite episode of this season. I actually think (or I hope) that the reason they are airing this one again is because Patricia has submitted it as her Emmy consideration tape. It’s almost time for the voters to start considering the nominees and they probably want it to be fresh in the voters minds. I personally think if she uses this ep as her submission, she is a lock for an Emmy.
See you all tonight.

Hi guys! I am glad that if there has to be a repeat, it’s this one. Definately one of my favorite episodes of all. Talk to you in a bit.

Apr 18, 2007 at 8:03 pm
Yay! It’s started-for me anyway. I love that line, “who’s your stylist, Homer Simpson?”
If Patricia submits this for her Emmy, she’s got to win!

I’m in Texas for work and planning to join the fun (at the early time). I thought I was so clever! Turns out that Medium airs at 9 am here. Agh!
I hope your day off was fabulous.

Mine is on at 9 pm as well, but I’m an hour ahead of you, apparently.

How can they call what Allison did “breaking and entering”? She didn’t break in at all. She just used the key. They should’ve just said she was in the wrong house and left it at that.

Apr 18, 2007 at 8:36 pm
I guess it’a kind of pointless for me to make comments right now before anyone else is watching. I’ll just hang tight for a while.

Don’t feel left out, Dorothy. I can’t watch right now because my DVR is recording Jimmy Kimmel with David Arquette, but as soon as he’s off, I’m switching over to Medium. I LOVE this episode!
BTW, where’s Tom? Did he bail already?
Tom
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:10 pm
No I didn’t bail out yet went down stairs to watch it again. lol I love this show.
Dorothy
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:16 pm
I know I’m skipping to the end, but since we have all seen this already, it really shouldn’t matter. I think I’m the only one who can’t guess what Joe’s voice mail message from Allison was. Any theories?

How about, your Valentine’s day present is waiting in the bedroom.
Tom
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:23 pm
Or,
Come into the bedroom and unwrap your Valentines present.
Or
Dorothy
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:37 pm
That’s much more clever and eloquent than eveything I attempted to come up with.
Dorothy
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:39 pm
It’s funny, but now I feel much more at ease with that closing scene. I was just too distracted by the fact that I didn’t know what the message was. It made me uncomfortable. Isn’t that dumb?
Tom
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:40 pm
Thanks for the compliment Dorothy,
They only get better from there lol
Dawn, Just saw David Arquette on Kimmel show, he must have been something else growing up. Is he always this um whats the word I am searching for
ah yes, Wacky?

I’ve got the candles. You bring the champagne.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:44 pm
No, Tom, he’s nothing like that in person. i just finished watching it too. And he is NOTHING like that in person. I think it’s all an act, or he just gets really nervous on talk shows.
Tom
Apr 18, 2007 at 9:55 pm
Dawn probably from lack of sleep like he said. Either that or he had way too much sugar for the day.
Our host should be arriving soon, wonder how her day of relaxation went????
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:01 pm
Yeah, she should be here any minute. I just started the show. I love the opening.
That slap looked like it really hurt.
What in God’s green hell have you done now, Sandra?
hahahahahhahaha! I LOVE that line.
35% rayon. I think not.
Sandra is a witch with a capital B.
Come on, answer me, Don Juan!
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:03 pm
I love that. She just stole his ride and bounced!
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:05 pm
Here I am! Not that I don’t adore each and every one of you but I would so rather be sleeping right now.
However, if I MUST be vertical, this is the episode to keep me entertained.
She is so bitchy. I just love that.
Dawn

Sheila, I thought you would have had enough rest today to stay up all night.
And you’re right about the ep. It is DEFINITELY the one worth staying up for.
I really think Patricia’s Emmy chances are very good if she submitted this ep.
Tom

Tom, behave yourself,
Tom, behave yourself,
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:11 pm
Sheila, what’s going on with the server problems? Any idea when that’ll be cleared up?
I love the way Ariel and Bridget are together. They are so real it’s unbelievable.
Another reason to love this ep. Joe AND Scanlon together.
Wow, she is so convincing as Sandra it’s scary.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:12 pm
Tom, behave yourself.

Not while you’re wearing my wife!
The writing for this ep is BRILLIANT!!
And the performances are absolutely perfect.
Ashton KOOTCHER!

Well, sorry to be a party pooper, but I’m going brain dead. I guess this is it for me tonight. I’ll talk with all of you next week during the new episode!!! Good night.
Sheila, congratulations on making it through the tax season.
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:15 pm
Actually, the server problems are taken care of. Or so I have been told.
BUT, if you are talking about the “you are posting too quickly” message, that is a separate issue. I think it a new “feature” on all b5media blogs. I have not heard back about that yet.
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:17 pm
‘nite Dorothy! Thanks for staying up!
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:18 pm
Does anyone else think that Patricia actually LOOKS different in this ep? It’s like she has an entirely different ‘physicality’, as she calls it. It’s uncanny how she looks like a completely different person, almost like another actress playing the part.
You know what I mean?
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:19 pm
I just want to slap Sondra. How could Joe not slap her? Oh, I guess the part where she is wearing Allison’s face might have something to do with that.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:20 pm
Nite, Dorothy.
Sheila, maybe it’s my computer. It just seems to take a couple of minutes for the page to load and refresh.
Tom
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:20 pm
Nite Dorothy
I am still having problems with page, when I click on Open Mic, the screen comes back and when you scroll down, all lines. About 20 seconds later its okay
No one mentioned bridget tonight when she was in the bathroom screaming because there is no toilet paper in there. lol
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:21 pm
Sheila, I imagine it would be hard for him to slap her when she’s ‘wearing his wife’.
But I really felt sorry for him in this ep.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:23 pm
Tom, that’s the same thing I get, even when I use a different computer.
She is such a beeyatch!
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:26 pm
This scene really got to me.
Poor Joe. He’s so worried and he’s trying to protect the girls.
Come here, baby. Let me make it all better.
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:28 pm
Regarding the server issues, I will report the problems you are having to our tech support. They said the main problem was fixed but they are still tweaking some small things. Whatever THAT means. Sorry for the problems.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:28 pm
I can count to ONE, Tom.
Wow, a regular rocket scientist.
Ouch, that’s gonna leave a mark!
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:33 pm
Now what I want to know is how Sondra knew Allison’s accent.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:34 pm
That is interesting, Sheila. I hadn’t thought of that.
And she steals his cell and bounces AGAIN!
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:37 pm
THIS is the scene where Patricia really GOT to me. Her heartbreak and desperation are so real that it just breaks my heart.
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:37 pm
Me neither, until this viewing!
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:39 pm
It’s funny how you notice little things in repeat viewings that you miss the first time. And some episodes, like this one, just get better with repeat viewings.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:42 pm
Oh, my goodness!
Joe is speechless!
That’s plenty of excitement.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:43 pm
Bye,…bye, girls.
Said the Queen Mum as she makes her getaway.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:45 pm
This is another scene where Patricia really stands out. This is definitely Emmy material.
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:45 pm
Joe’s message to Allison. Waaaaaaaaaaa!
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:45 pm
“Good God Almighty, Allison”
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:46 pm
And again, Joe breaks my heart a little.
He deserves an Emmy nod for this ep too.
Am I talkin’ to myself here?
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:48 pm
Who am I, chopped liv-uh?
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:48 pm
And yet another scene that Patricia is OUTSTANDING in, if you get my meaning.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:51 pm
There you are, Sheila. I thought I’d lost you. I think we’ve lost Tom.
I just slammed myself into a tree at 35 miles an hour so you can have fancy cars and weekend houses, let’s not compare moods.
Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:52 pm
Ugh. Can you imagine what that would be like to be the dying wife, lying there is a hole, broken, bleeding, hearing them talk, knowing they killed you on purpose, and then watching the final blow?
Ugh. Ugh. UGH!
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:52 pm
AHHH!
That was gruesome!!
Tom
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:53 pm

Sheila
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:53 pm
It must be the connection problem. I think they lied when they said it was fixed.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:53 pm
Yeah, that explains the look on her face when they dug her up.
Dawn
Apr 18, 2007 at 10:55 pm

EWWWW!
I’m with you on this one, Sheila.
Looks like another good one, but they left a lot out of the preview. I think it’s going to be an excellent ep.

That was a pretty lively discussion last night!
Loved Scanlon’s line (OK it’s ture - I just LVOE Scanlon no matter what he does) “Look at it this way, at least she didn’t wake up as MR O’Bannon!”
Too funny!
Loved her with the girls - not being able to get their names straight - so funny. “I think I’ll just call them girls.”
