Open Mic Night: Better Off Dead
In honor of Better Off Dead (MED-046) tonight at 10/9c, I am hosting another Open Mic Night here at Medium Dreams.
Come to this post before, during, or after the show and chat about Medium in the comments. Talk about the show. Gossip about the actors. Meet some of your fellow readers and commenters.
I will be here from 7:00 to 10:00pm PST, but don’t wait for me. Comment any time! I will take a break from 10:00-11:00 to liveblog the show but I will be back at 11:00 for half an hour or so before collapsing into bed to dream about what I am sure will be an excellent show.
Should I make this Open Mic Night a weekly thing?

What a great idea! Unfortunately, I don’t have internet hook up at home, so I’ll have to read the posts on Thursday.
I sure hope we have way more Scanlon in tonight’s episode. Hope he and the deputy mayor NEVER hook up again. His relationship with her was “hinted” at several times in a few episodes, after last seasons “Knowing Her”, but they sometimes forget when they make a mention of something, if they film the eps in one order and run them in another, sometimes these hints don’t work out. For example, they started the season with the two-parter where he and Lynn broke up (she totally broke his heart), but in the “Be Kind Re-Wind” ep, he mentions he has a lunch date(a certain someone at city hall), and Allison says she canceled it for him, but this ep ran after the break up ep. Guess they weren’t sure whether to run the two-parter first or not. Probably got messed up because of the late start of the series this season.
I think the writer’s subtle way of bringing in Devalos diabetes without hitting us over the head was by having him come in all sweaty last week from running/walking before coming to work.
You have to watch and listen carefully for this “hints”.
I just hope this episode makes more sense then then last one!

Betty: You are right about episodes airing out of order from the shooting schedule. When Patricia Arquette did promo for Season 3, she talked about a great episode that was all about four dreams but said she wasn’t sure it would be ready to go as the Season 3 premiere because they were still working on special effects. (The cartoon stuff, I think.) And I found episodes out of order on the NBC website, too. I have decided to list them in order by air date here.
We’ll miss you tonight!

Ah, that means 10-1 here (East Coast)? That’s kinda late for me (especially on a school night–I have to wake up at 6 a.m.), I can hardly stay up late enough to watch Medium. This episode looks good; I’m really excited. Well, if anyone is here now…I’d be happy to discuss the show.

Holly: I will join you in about an hour. Heading home from work in just a couple minutes. I think I should make it 4? 5? 6? PST so East Coasters can get in a chat before the show? We shall see how it goes.

Hey, nbc.com finally got their behind-the-scenes video up for tonight’s episode. Kind of gave a bit more of the episode away, but still worth a watch in my opinion. They said that it will be more romantic than scary. Sound good.

Ah, looks like I won’t get to participate in tonight’s Open Mike. The show starts in a few minutes and I don’t have a television in my computer room. Maybe next time. :(

Holly is watching the show as I write this. Meanwhile I have THREE HOURS before I get to see it here. Life is so unfair. *grump*
Okay, going over to the NBC site to watch the promo video.

Hey, the video at NBC says this episode is not as dark as episodes have been lately. THAT’S a relief. Happy dead people. I want happy dead people for a change, please.

How cute was that episode! Except for the part where **SPOILER ALERT** Vincent’s wife cut up his dead body, of course.
Just finished watching the episode. That Skipper from Sex and the City has such an innocent, adorable quality about him. I just want to take him home and cuddle him.
Okay, off to polish the liveblogging.

Yeah, you should consider moving the times up a bit. I sat here waiting for someone to show up for awhile, but then the show was about to come on, and when it was over it was time for bed. I’d be a fun weekly thing if it was only earlier.

That would be perfect. As long as it is still good for everyone else. That is if anyone else shows up…
