Patricia Arquette Confirms She is Staying Home on Sunday
Well, it is official. Patricia Arquette will not be attending the Golden Globes. She is delighted to be honored with a nomination, but feels that she must follow her convictions even if it isn’t easy. She said, “…I don’t feel I could show up unless there’s some kind of agreement made with the writers. So many families are suffering right now, and the sooner both sides come to the table and come to a reasonable resolution the better for everyone.”
While I know we’d love the chance to see her out and about and looking fabulous, I have to say I respect anyone who has convictions and sticks to them, especially in Hollywood, where it seems extra hard to do so.

I was going to mention that, Katelyn. I found this article that says pretty much the same thing. I’m disappointed that we probaby won’t get to see her there, but I’m proud of her for having the strength of her convictions to follow through with her support of the writers, even though this is her moment to shine. It’s nice to see that she’s grounded and has her priorities in the right place, and has the courage to stand by the writers during this difficult time. It will be doubly sad if she actually wins and she is unable to accept it in person because of the strike. But I say, stick with it, girl. Stand up for what you believe in. You rock, Patricia!!

I am very supportive what Patricia Arquette s plan to stay home. if It was me as actress I would stay home and stay out of the messes of the writers and the Hollywood big bosses. Keep herself in good name. I dont know her personally but I love her work too bad she rejected my businss proposal. she missed the good one.
wishes her luck with Golden Globes nomionnation.
I hope other ACtors and actresses could have support the writers by staying home and forget about the awards until Everyting is clear up between writers and Hollywood bosses. Awards can wait until everything is clear up I dont see thats a problem.. I dont think Awards is that important until writers get somethign they deserves. they have families to support and they are sufferings too. what a shame!

I have seen articles today that hint NBC may cancel the whole broadcast because of the strike.
OK, everyone, this strike is dragging on too long and too many people are being affected in a bad way because of this, so let’s all start praying even more that both sides come together and start talking again to solve this strike! The whole TV landscape is changing because of this strike - notice all the wacky reality shows and greedy, greedy game shows instead of scripted shows? They are cheap to produce and even without a writer’s strike, put a lot of actors and actresses out of work. Sure, there’s room for some good game shows and good quality, fun reality shows, but we don’t need night after night filled with this garbage.
I enjoy watching the awards shows, too.
Let’s all pray for a good resolution.

Don’t forget, everyone, that Patricia will be one of the nominees interviewed on a two-hour Dateline special airing before the Golden Globes press conference, called “Going for the Gold”, at 7 pm EST.
Frankly I’m surprised that Patricia is even included in this show with all the big name movie actors nominated, like Clooney, Hanks, Washington, and Roberts, not to mention the television actors that are nominated. Patricia is usually the last one that is picked for things like this, and she is almost never interviewed on the red carpet, so it’s really great to see her getting some attention finally and some recognition for all her hard work. And it’s about time someone noticed just how many nominations she has racked up in the last three or four years. They always mention her one Emmy win, but they ignore all of the Golden Globe, SAG, Satellite, and Saturn nominations that she has gotten. So it’s great to see her getting some recognition finally. You GO, Patricia!
Also there is talk that some celebs may show up at the press conference since the WGA has decided not to picket (because NBC agreed not to do an exclusive broadcast), but I doubt that Patricia will be there because she said on the View today that she was glad that she didn’t have to get a dress and get dressed up. I can’t blame her for that.
