Patricia Arquette is Going to Help Sick Children Get Creative

by Katelyn on December 10th, 2007

We all know that Patricia Arquette is a pretty talented person - just look at the things she’s designed for charities lately. However, according to The Cheers News, this time, she’s taking on the role of art teacher. She will be visiting children who are in the hospital and will help them finger paint some masterpieces so they can think about something besides pain for a bit. Way to go, Patricia.

By the way, this is for a program through Art of Elysium and you don’t have to be a movie star to get involved. They will be opening a New York chapter and it looks like they are hoping to get all types of artistic folks to volunteer, from painters to writers.

Wow, she never ceases to amaze me. She just never stops giving and she seems to have a bottomless heart o’ gold. I love that about her.

Katelyn, I was going to post a link to the Art of Elysium website, but I see that you’ve already done that. I wanted to point out that Patricia has had a years-long involvement with them, going back as far as 2002 when she hosted an art show to raise money for them. She also co-hosted a fashion show for girls with craniofacial deformities in 2005. If you go to their site and browse around, you’ll find that she and her brother David and sister Rosanna are all longtime supporters, and if you look through the events, you can find photos of all of them at various events through the years. There is also a beautiful testimonial that Patricia wrote about her involvement with them and what it means to her, which I think highlights just what a warm and caring person she is.

What a wonderful thing to do for children who are sick and in pain. I loved reading about this and it reminded me of a great site for kids to show off their creativity. It is called http://www.Kabillion.com/littledirector At this site, your child can draw, animate, add music, voiceover, and put no limit to their imagination as they create their own movies. It’s kid-focused and easy to use. I know because I work for them and I have tried the site and it’s fun. It’s free to use and the parents can buy a DVD of their children’s artwork when they are done in order to support your little artists’ visions and renderings. Think of all the possibilities and creativity your tikes can embark on. They can create their own Christmas stories with themselves as the star! What a great gift for their parents to keep and to treasure. Just sign up and start enjoying their creativity today. You refrigerator door will never be bear again!

Baily, thanks for posting the link for that and thanks so much for the info!

Too bad Patricia and her family don’t get as much publicity for their charity works as Paris, Lindsay, Britney, et al get for their shopping, partying, and general bad behavior! Our world just might be a better place if we focused more on the positive things people have to offer in this world and not the twits like Britney!

Sorry Bailey, I just realized I left the “e” out of your name - my apologies.
