Patricia Arquette is Nowhere Near a Worse Dressed List This Year

by Katelyn on September 20th, 2007

We aren’t the only ones raving over Patricia Arquette’s sophisticated new ‘do and her elegant little black dress. The only comment I heard that was even a little negative was about a wrestling match with her chest. Otherwise, she’s showing up on best dressed and best hairdo lists all over town. Way to go, Patricia!

Fametastic says:

Medium’s Patricia Arquette landed the best black gown for the evening, with an interesting, flattering neckline and enough fabric in the skirt to make it look glam without it getting silly.

InStyle says:

Nominee Arquette’s chin-length bob fused edgy and polished.

Well, I don’t think it’s fair to take comments made in the ladies’ room! For Pete’s sake, you can’t even have privacy in the bathroom any more?

Patricia looked fantastic and very classy! Maybe she took our advice to wear a classic designer dress. I am so glad she kept her make-up and hair classy and simple. Nothing extreme and it worked great!

She was clearly the best dress actress there. By the way, nothing wrong with some bounce.

I am so proud of her and her hair do makes her log very sexy. Whoever she had helping her make these choices should get a raise.

Katelyn, I found an article in this week’s InTouch magazine about the hairstyles at the Emmys, and it said that hers was one of the looks that “stole the show”. It said “the evening’s highlights included Debra Messing’s ravishing straight style, Patricia Arquette’s razor-sharp bob, and-..Rachel Griffiths’ sexy tousled tresses.” Ths stylist who reviewed the looks said that “Patricia’s heavy, sweeping bangs make her style incredibly modern” and adds that “making the look piecy gives the short style a cool, edgy twist.”
There is also a beautiful head shot of her, but I couldn’t find one picture of her dress. She wasn’t on any best-dressed lists, but she wasn’t on any worst-dressed lists, either, so that’s a plus. I felt that, surely with the two gorgeous looks she put together last weekend, there would be at least one mention of her, aside from her hair. She had two fantastic looks, and she STILL gets no notice. Guess some people are just going to get overlooked no matter what they do. It’s a shame, too, because I’m sure she put a lot of time and effort into looking that good.

On a similar note, Katelyn. Recently, you posted about a teapot that Patricia decorated and signed that was being auctioned for charity. I just wanted to add something else, because I think everyone should know what a wonderful and giving person she is. I don’t know if you know this, but the charity group, ClothesOffOurBack, is having a LittleBlackDress auction, and Patricia has graciously donated a little black dress from her closet to be sold for charity. It’s a beautiful, simple A-line, long sleeved Riser Goodwyn (which isn’t cheap). She has also signed a bottle of Little Black Dress wine, a merlot, to be auctioned. The proceeds from these events goes to the Second Harvest food bank, the Art of Elysium, autism research, and other worthy causes.

Earlier this year, Patricia also signed a couple of limited edition Starbucks t-shirts that were auctioned by ClothesOffOurBack for similar causes. I think it takes a special person to continue to take the time and energy to give of herself and lend her name to benefit worthy causes. And she does it all without fanfare, or accolades, or for reward or recognition. That makes her a truly wonderful person in my book.

Guys, I found out something that kind of bothers me a little. You know how we talked about how sick Patricia was earlier this year and we talked about sending her well-wishes. Well, I just found out why Thomas wasn’t at the Emmys with Patricia. Seems he ate a mushroom from a friends’ garden and became violently ill and had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment. Sounds like it was a very bad time for him and for Patricia. Not sure how close to the Emmys it was but it probably explains why Patricia didn’t look too happy that night. I’m thinking it might have been that night because he said that Patricia’s brother picked him up from the hospital. I’m guessing that was David. Anyway, Patricia probably had a lot on her mind that night, on top of the stress of the awards.

Anyway, just thought I’d share this. By the way, Thomas’ website, RAW Studios, has been revamped and is looking really good, and there’s a forum where his fans can chat. There is a section where you can ask Tom a question and he will answer it. He often checks into the forum and chats from time to time. So I thought it might be nice to send him best wishes.

You know, I thought the couple of times I got a glimpse of her on the red carpet that she seemed upset or at least very distracted, perhaps that is why - her mind was elsewhere.

I hope everyone is well and healthy now.

    Dawn,
How terrible! I’m never harvesting my own mushrooms.

Yeah, Katelyn, I know what you mean. I knew there was a reason I didn’t like mushrooms. Now I’m more convinced than ever that I will never eat them again. In his note, TJ said that the doctor told him that there was one kind of white mushroom (which is what he ate) that causes liver failure and death within a couple of days. Fortunately, Tom got the other kind and is hopefully well and rested now. Still, that is terrible to think about. From his account of the event, it sounded excruciating and horrible.
