Patricia Arquette Nominated for a SAG Award
It is awards season! Last month, Patricia was nominated for a Golden Globe as best actress in a TV drama. Today Patricia was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award:
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series
Patricia Arquette, Medium
Edie Falco, The Sopranos
Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Kyra Sedgwick,The Closer
Chandra Wilson, Grey’s Anatomy
Hooray for Patricia! Slightly different field this go-round: Edie Falco and Kyra Sedgwick are Golden Globe repeats while Mariska Hargitay and Chandra Wilson replace Evangeline Lilly and Ellen Pompeo as nominees.
No one else from Medium was nominated. Neither was the show itself. What is up with that? Obviously we have to take matters into our own hands. I hereby bypass all nominations and simply announce the awards:
Medium, Best TV Drama Featuring Dead People
Patricia Arquette, Best Actress Interacting With Dead People and Cranky D.A.’s
Jake Weber, Best Actor in a House Full of Female Psychics
Miguel Sandoval, Outstanding Ability to Display Irritation Yet Still Remain Loveable
David Cubitt, The Hunka Hunka Burnin’ Love Special Achievement Award
Sofia Vassilieva, Outstanding Crying Performance in a TV Drama, for the hospital bedside scene in Be Kind, Rewind
Maria Lark, Best Silly Dance by a Child Actress With a Spoon on Her Nose, for Ghost in the Machine
Miranda and Madison Caribello, Outstanding Ability to Remain Indistinguishable From One Another on Camera
Thomas Jane, Best Actor in a Guest Role as a Dead Person
If you want to see a list of TV-only nominees (so you don’t have to wade through all the Movie noms first), check out TV Squad. And just for the heck of it, because the name of her blog continues to crack me up, Seriously?OMG!WTF? has the complete list of noms.

Those are funny. If they were really categories they would surely win. Though, they may be the only ones in the categories, but that doesn’t matter :). It’s does not seem right that the show never gets nominated. They do such a phenomenal job–they make it seem real, not like a TV show. They just don’t get the recognition they deserve, but what do you expect of award shows–they almost always get it wrong. We know they do a great job, and I guess that’s all that really matters.

Whoo-Hoo! Yet another opportunity for Patty to attend a highly publicized event in an outfit that will leave us all speachless! Can’t wait!

Oh darn, she lost again :( . Chandra Wilson from Grey’s Anatomy won. They did show a clip, it was that scene at breakfast in Be Kind, Rewind where she goes crazy and yells her head off (funny stuff, funny stuff). They did show her several times, and she looks nice, in my opinion (though I only really saw her from the waist, up). Ah, well, at least we know she is awesome.
