Patricia Arquette on Letterman
Patricia Arquette is scheduled to be on The Late Show with David Letterman tonight. Set your Tivo’s for 11:35. Or 11:55ish. You know they do not get to the guest until about 15 or 20 minutes in, right?
And you know Tivo is now the generic term for a DVR (digital video recorder), just like Kleenex is the generic term for a tissue, right?
Just keeping you up-to-date.

I’ve got my VCR set - don’t have a DVR just yet, but hey, it works! Set it for tonight. Got it set for tomorrow AM for the Today Show and I will set it again for The View - they even announced her name as coming up for tomorrow several times.

I am so psyched about all of these appearances. I’ve already got my DVR and VCR set for all of them. I record both just in case one messes up. I really hope these are decent interviews and not just the usual crappy two-minute spots she usually gets. Maybe she’ll give some dirt about the show’s renewal and let us off the hook.

I am all set for the interviews also. In fact this morning I had a dry run and recorded the Today show a day ahead of schedule. lol
Have a change in plans so I will be at open mic tomorrow night and can’t wait to see the new episode of Medium
I too am hoping these will be quality interviews and reveal something. What I do find interesting though, that NBC Late Night (Leno) didn’t have her on tonight.
Maybe NBC is asleep at the switch or maybe there is something to the rumor about Medium perhaps moving to CBS or maybe the interview on Letterman is truly an interview and not necessarily a plug. We will find out in about 2 hours from now.

I saw the tail-end of the Letterman interview, and she was talking about the set being a “jokey” one. It was cute and her dress, hair, and makup looked great.
I also wondered about the fact that she was on Letterman being related to a CBS move. Did she ever talk about it? I missed the first part due to having on a Battlestar Galactica rerun. God, I’m a geek.

It was a fantastic interview. She was beautiful, funny, relaxed and intelligent. Her dress was beautiful. She talked about her kids (that Harlow must be a scream) and about working with her brother as a director. She also talked about the real Allison Dubois and the creation of the show. She didn’t talk about the rumors of cancellation, so maybe there’s nothing to them. As for her being on Letterman, I think that had more to do with her being in NY to do The View and the Today show than with any connection that CBS might have with the show or possibly picking it up.
I thought it was one of the best interviews she’s ever done. Usually when someone interviews her, they either go brain-dead and ask stupid questions or they try to make her look silly by making her say things that sound ridiculous. Anyone who saw her last appearance on Leno knows what I’m talking about. But this one was great. I can’t wait for the others tomorrow, oops, I mean today.

Patricia was SO funny and cute on Letterman! Who didn’t love her stories of torturing david as children, and her imfamous “handball” attacks? I was laughing so hard I was crying.

Wow, that was a great interview last night! I’m so glad I stayed up for it, it was so interesting to hear her talk about her life and the show. Now, in complete contrast, I thought the Today Show interview was not that great. It wasn’t that long at all (they stood outside for like a minute). I think the interviewers talked more or as much as she did, which is not cool. I, am, however, very happy I taped it, but for different reasons.

I agree with Holly. The Today show interview was so lame. Here is a star of her caliber on their show and she is consigned to a measly two-minute walk-on appearance. NBC has no clue how to treat its stars. It’s no wonder the network is sinking. You would think that when they get one of their own stars on their own network show, they would give her a decent interview. But that was terrible. To make her fly all the way to New York for that is an insult to Patricia. It’s a good thing that they scheduled the other interviews for her. But I thought she was beautiful and funny as usual.

I just watched The View interview and I think that it was pretty good, though she said pretty much the same things she said last night on Letterman. They showed a clip of tonight’s episode where she is in the shower telling Joe he’s going to get the Mars project. Then they asked her what she was really wearing in the scene and she said she was wearing sweatpants. She went on to say that she wears a lot of clothes during nude scenes. Of course, she looked fabulous and was her regular charming self.

I taped it and won’t be able to see it until tonight. I am sure she was wearing something cute!

I have to say, I really thought the dress she wore on Letterman was hideous. I was very disappointed that they did not show a clip from the show or really talk much about the show that will air tonight or the upcoming show her brother directed. I’m glad they talked about Miguel directing and her brother, but if you want people to tune in who’ve never seen the show before, you much tease them with something.
The Today show interview, if you could even call it that, was a total waste of time. They barely introduced her and it was obvious the talking heads had not done their homework because one of them was babbling about the show David directed which is fine, but it’s not the one that is on tonight. Had she done her homework, she would have known that Miguel Sandoval directed tonight’s episode. Good Morning America does a far superior job of interviewing TV stars, even when they are on another network. I don’t normally watch the Today show and today’s show reinforced my reasons for not watching.
The View interview was far better. At least they showed a clip from the show and Patricia talked about how they depict a real life family which she didn’t think was represented before on TV. Joy Behar asked her about her weight, she said she heard that one of the producers had asked her to lose weight - she’d just had Harlow when she started the show - Patricia said one of the producers did indeed tell her to lose some weight, but Glen G Caron told her she was fine. She said because she is playing a mother of 3, she really felt strongly about not being a little teeny thing. Joy told her she was perfect just like she was. Her outfit was better than the one she wore on Letterman. She had on these HUGE heels and was still a couple of inches shorter than anyone on stage!
Rosie O’Donnell told her she loved the show - too bad they don’t talk about Thursday mornings like they do Idol or some of the other shows. Elizabeth Hasselbecks said one of their producers loves the show.
