Patricia Arquette On The Adam Carolla Show

by Sheila on November 17th, 2006

Patricia Arquette did a telephone interview with Adam Carolla Wednesday, the morning of the big ‘Four Dreams’ premiere.

LISTEN TO THE FULL INTERVIEW (MP3)

FYI: The recording includes commentary among Adam and his fellow DJ’s (PJ’s?*) at both the beginning and end of the file. To get right to Patricia’s interview, move the slider in about a quarter of the way. The entire recording is about 25-30 minutes, including the non-Patricia parts.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Patricia believes in ghosts but says of course she cannot know for sure because she isn’t dead (Ha!)
  • Patricia dishes on her transsexual brother-now-sister Alexis. They spend a good chunk of time on this subject with Patricia providing patient explanations while Adam tries to be funny but just comes off as unsympathetic and GLBT-phobic. Then he abruptly cuts her off and changes the subject.
  • Patricia drives a Prius (Yes! My feelings of oneness with her are now complete.) She also has a Jaguar (and be sure to pronounce it JAG-ooo-ahr, like all the recent commercials.)
  • Her grandfather was Charlie Weaver, which I knew, but I did not remember he was a fixture on The Hollywood Squares.
  • When asked if she wants her children to go in to show business, Patricia said she would never encourage anyone to get into show business: “It’s a real crap-shoot. You’re not sure if you’ll get work or not.”

You don’t remember Cliff Arquette, aka Charlie Weaver, from the Hollywood Squares? I’m not that old!

“Alexis” was a guest on the Carolla show in the past. He/she was very nasty and walked off. And phobic/phobia refer to fears, not disgust. Words mean things.

I’ll take Charlie Weaver to block.
