Patricia Arquette on the Today Show to Promote Season 4
Ok, I have got to figure out how to do screencaps from live tv. I know it is just a matter of plugging a cord in from the tv to the computer and using the right software and I vaguely recall that at least one of my desktops has the software. I just have to figure out where the cord goes. All of this prefaces an apology for the quality of the “screencaps” I took with my digital camera, resulting in a lovely glare and grainy photo quality. I’ll try to find some better screencaps from another source, but in the meantime:
Patricia Arquette looked very sophisticated in simple black and really did a super job of seeming relaxed on the show. I know she isn’t crazy about this kind of thing, but you would have thought she was having a fantastic time.
She mentioned feeling torn about the Golden Globes because they did try to work things out with the writers and seemed to really be trying and the writers weren’t willing to negotiate. Because of that, she won’t picket with the writers, but she is supporting them still and won’t attend the Globes.
She also talked a bit about Angelica Huston and being excited to have her on the show and working with her.
Update: NBC has several publicity photos from today’s appearance. Now you can see how nice she looks in this classy black outfit. I can’t get over how great Patricia looks with her new hair style, makeup and wardrobe. I need to cultivate a good friend with great taste, too!
And take a look at that gorgeous bracelet in the closeup. Just one simple piece of jewelry.

She looks so beautiful! I wish I had gotten up early enough to see it, but I was so passed out from early morning feedings with my baby, I didn’t make it. I was too afraid of a repeat of last year where they only gave her 20 seconds and all my excitement was for nothing. Guess I was wrong! Dang! Yeah, Katelyn, if you could find this somewhere online somewhere, sleepy-heads like me would sure appreciate it!

Hi Guys,
Just came back from New York, where I was the first one on line to meet Patricia Arquette. It is unbelievable how beautiful she is in person. She is so gracious. She signed whatever you brought with you, she posed and took pictures with you, it was amazing.
My wife also attended the signing with me. Also right behind us in the 3rd position was Dawn, who snapped numerous pictures of her own.
We really couldn’t get over how beautiful she looked, her hair, her outfit and her voice. It surprised me how soft it is, not like the way she sounds on the show. But then again, she is an actress. She didn’t rush you and really made you feel like you were her old friend. What a woman!!!!
I am sure you will hear more about this later when Dawn checks in. See you all tonight

Hey, guys!!
I also missed Patricia on Today this morning, but I thought I would let you guys know that her interview is on the Today show website for all to watch. I just watched it and I must say that she did look fabulous. It was a great interview compared to last year.
Medium starts tonight!!!

Tom, I’m so jealous! It’s so nice to see her looking so chic! She looks gorgeous in every way - even her nails are done. What a nice classic black outfit and that simple piece of jewelry looks just perfect! No internet jokes or worst dressed lists this time!
I was too disappointed with the last visit, so I did not watch this time. Wow! They actually let her IN the studio this time to sit down and everything! Did they show any clips from the show or did she give any hints other than what we have heard already?

OHMYGOD!!!
How excited was I yesterday??!!!! I MET PATRICIA ARQUETTE!!!! As Tom said, I was right behind him in line, and Patricia looked STUNNING!! She is even MORE BEAUTIFUL in person!!! I didn’t think it could be possible, but it is. She’s absolutely breathtaking up close, and her voice. OhmiGod! It’s so different in person, all soft and velvety, and so sweet. And she is the nicest, sweetest person you could ever hope to meet. Remember how excited I was to meet her husband and brother last year, and how wonderful they were. Well, multiply that times 100 and you might get some idea of how FANTASTIC it was to meet Patricia herself! Words cannot begin to descibe how beautiful and sweet and charming she really is.
And I have to tell you all what my good friend Tom did. As he said, he was ahead of me in line, and he later told me that he intended to get there before me. Because he a HUGE surprise in store for me. As he was talking to Patricia and I was fussing with my camera, he slyly slipped Patricia some photos of me with Thomas and David that were taken at last year’s Tripper premiere that I attended. He told her that her biggest fan was in line behind me and that it would make my day if she recognized me and spoke to me. WOW!!! Did it ever??!!!
When I walked up to her, she said, “Ohh, the Tripper. Hi, Dawn.” Needless to say, she blew my tiny mind. I almost fell over in the floor right then and there. Then she happily posed for several pictures, and even waited while a couple of people tried to figure out how to use my monster of a camera. She was so pleasant when I apologized for the delay, and then she signed several items that I had brought, including my season 3 dvd set, which she signed “Dawn, Stay Sweet, Patricia Arquette”
How AWESOME is that??!!!
I have been on a cloud all day, and I can’t bring myself down. Not that I want to. I want to cherish this day forever, and I will. I now have several photos of me with my absolute favorite actress in the world, and the most beautiful and charming celebrity I’ve ever had the great good fortune to meet.
And thanks again Tom for that totally awesome setup. That was fantastic! That made up for my guilt at playing hooky from work, lol!
I finally saw her appearance on the Today show after Medium went off, and she looked fabulous, didn’t she? (Of course it pales in comparison to seeing her in person) And the interview was great. As always, it was too short, but it was much better than last year’s. At least they let her come inside and sit down this time. For that, I’ll forgive them for making her late to the signing. Lol.

Oops I meant to say that Tom told Patricia that her biggest fan was in line behind HIM, not me. Lol. I was so excited my fingers couldn’t keep up with my brain.

Tom and Dawn,
I am SO HAPPY for the both of you! It is nice to see other fans of Patricia’s have been able to meet her, and feel the same way I do!
See, didn’t I tell you all she is much more strikingly beautiful in person, her eyes are so green, and she was the sweetest thing?
I should have asked you to tell her ‘Hi’ for me too, if I had only known you were going…
I am so happy for you guys!!!

Thanks, Michael. I know why you were so excited when you got to meet her. It was amazing beyond words. Here is a link to some thoughts that I wrote down last night ( I couldn’t sleep. I wonder why? Lol.) that I thought I’d share with you all.

What a wonderful post Dawn. I know all the emotions you went through, totally forgetting what you had planned on saying, etc. I know you have read my article about it, so I know you can relate.
I know what you mean about her and pictures too, she grabbed my partner and put her hand around ym waist and is was so weird, in a good way, and I felt like I wasn’t supposed to touch her, but I did. I couldn’t be rude and not put my arm around her too, right?
You, Tom, and myself should make a cool collage of the times we met her. =) We could out it together and send it to her, saying she rocks, etc.
Again, thank you for sharing this, and i am glad you were able to experience what I did. It all happened so fast!

It is really amazing, how we all responded to meeting Patricia in a similiar way. I think because we are all in such awe of her, that anything we planned to say was completely forgotten. I know, in looking at the pictures that were taken, I remember being there, but finding it hard to remember exactly what was said or done. Here I thought it was old age creeping in by you and Dawn are much younger then me, so it had to be something else.
I am just glad I had the forsight the night before to put together my thoughts on what I wanted to say to her and put it in the form of fan mail, which I handed her in an envelope when I left.
I always wondered if our email ever reaches her, so I wanted to at least guarantee to myself, that she received it this time.
Let me know where you want to send my pics

Hey Tom!
I agree with everything you said. I also snuck in a thank you letter to Patricia in the ‘Beyond Rangoon’ DVd I had made her. I hope she got to read it, so she knew I wasn’t a total spazz. =)
I would love to see the pics!
If you were the first one in line and had all black on and sun glasses on your head, there is a picture of you with Patricia at Yahoo news photos.
Hey, I am 28, I am not THAT young!
Send photos to:

Same goes for Dawn of course.
Thanks again for sharing guys!

Tom and Dawn, and Michael, you are so lucky to have met Patricia in person! I know I would feel just about the same way if I ever got to meet David Cubitt in person - I think if I found out I was dying soon, I would want to make the trip to California to meet David and then I could die a happy person. It would be so hard to say something intelligent in the few moments you are allowed. I imagine you kind of go numb.

Actually, Michael, Tom was first in line to meet her and his picture is on the Yahoo page shaking her hand. It’s also on the GettyImages page. I’m amazed at how much coverage that little event got. There are pictures and posts up everywhere. And there was even a blog written about it, but it was at one of those mean sites where the commenters write nasty stuff. The title of the post was “It was either this or Leno.” I thought that was pretty funny though. Lol.
Betty, I hope that you too someday get to realize your greatest fantasy as Tom and I did yesterday. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

OMG! OMG!
*runs around*
It’s BAAAAAAACK! I am so happy!
I know y’all have already said it, but Patricia looked exceptionally fabulous on Today. I waited and waited to see her come on the show then finally had to set the recorder and go to work.
Dawn, Tom, and MWA: I am green…GREEN… with envy. I know I have, in fact, met her but that was a whole YEAR ago. And I did not get pictures. Can I touch you?

Yes, Sheila. It was so amazingly awesome. I swear to you all, when she walked into the room, she was glowing. I have heard the expression “blinded by their beauty” but I never actually believed it could be true. But I am here to tell you it is. She was so amazingly beautiful that I was thunderstruck and almost, literally blinded by her essence. I know that I looked at her, and I’m sure I looked into her face, but I honestly cannot remember it. Maybe in time, when I can come down from this incredible feeling, I will be able to recall more details, and remember the moment more clearly. I do remember thinking afterwards that I wished I had more time with her, to just stand there and talk to her. And envying the people who were standing with her at that very moment, even though I had already had my moment. It wasn’t nearly enough. It could have been ten times as long, and it wouldn’t have been nearly enough.

I can relate to what Dawn says!
I was very, very lucky to get to chat with Patricia the 2 times I did, at the one event. She was so kind.
When I got back to maine, I wrote and wrote a diary recounting all of the events that happened that night, because I knew some of it would slip away.
There were some really hysterical moments. My partner taking a photo in her face as she was leaning forward (yes, very bosomy photo), and us all laughing because she just knew what it would be of, her calling me a “wee babe”, etc.
Her positive energy hit me first, then her sparly green eyes. She looked SO much younger in person, I don’t know why photos and television make her look older. It may just be the way light hit her, who knows? We all look different in photos. I look like a monster in my photo with her!
Tom is immortalized on gettyimages!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean, Michael. I look terrible in the pictures I have of me with her, but then who doesn’t look terrible standing next to her?? She is so amazingly beautiful that everything around her seems dull by comparison. And I can barely remember half of what we talked about. I think I was a babbling idiot most of the time, lol.
Tom was the lucky one who was first in line, and his picture is now all over the internet with Patricia. I’m just glad it was him and not me, because I played hooky from work to go and meet her, lol. Did ya’ll think I wouldn’t?? I’ve even seen Tom’s picture with Patricia in a couple of gossip blogs that were talking about her appearance at the store that day.
I told Tom it must have been a slow news day because I have never seen Patricia get that much coverage by the media and paparazzi before, especially when she’s alone. There were even some paparazzi shots of her leaving a restaurant Monday night. That is very unusual for them to follow her around like that.

It’s funny to hear you guys say how green her eyes are, they look so incredibly BLUE onscreen! But, that’s not really that surprising, but still; those eyes look like gorgeous glass orbs.
It’s nice to hear you also say how nice and gracious Patricia is; too many times we hear the bad and ugly of celebs. So many folks in this industry really are very down to earth and human people. But I guess tabloids don’t sell when Britney is having a good day, huh?!
Glad you guys had such a great time with someone you admire; really wonderful. Makes for a special New Year, doesn’t it?!

Dawn you are great! Where did you find all of thee blogs and paparazzi photos of patricia out and about at dinner, and regarding her appearance at the NBC store that day.
Don;t worry about being a babbling idiot. i think we all felt that way when we met her. I had to apologize to her for being ‘that guy that screamed’, I am sure you know what incedent I am refering to. Not my best moment. =( Luckily, it was water under the bridge. =)

Michael, I found the HQ pics at celebutopia and a friend who is in my Yahoo group got me quite a few from wireimage. I also have a feedreader so I happened across them there.
Just so you guys know, Tom tipped me off that Patricia is doing an interview on the pre-Globes ceremony on Sunday night. Can’t wait to see that. She also was on GoodDayLA yesterday and was great. It was a satellite interview from NY, where I guess she’s still doing the press thing. Don’t forget about The View on Friday as well. It would be bittersweet for her if she did win the Golden Globe this weekend and she couldn’t accept it on television. What a cruel twist of fate that would be.

Thanks for the tips Dawn!
Yes, I hope Patricia wins the Globe. 3 time is the charm?
She deserves it. I do not want her to be Susan Lucci of the GG’s.
I did read about the pre-globe interview, so we will see more of her than we do at any award red carpet event, right?
I am so happy to have a DVD recorder!!!
Oh, one of these days, when I get a computer that burns DVD’s (during tax season I say), I will be updating and making more of my ‘Beyond Rangoon’ special edition widescreen DVD.
I will be asking for addresses for you, Tom, Katelyn, and anyone else who would like a copy.
Happy New year everyone!
No one can sell or copy theirs though…

Michael, put me on your list for that movie!
Hey Sheila! Glad you stopped in - you must come by on open mic night and throw in your own take - miss ya gal! Glad you are enjoying your new house - they are all a lot of work, but at least it is yours to keep after you do the work. Since they took away the monthly index of blogs on this site, it’s so hard to find posts you are interested in or might have missed. Sometimes I don’t get responses even though I’m subscribed to the blogs and sometimes I don’t get notified of the new postings either - it’s weird - guess it’s Hal wrecking havoc over here!
Please come and chat with us Sheila!
