Patricia Arquette Takes in Some Art

by Katelyn on June 23rd, 2008

eye According to The OC Register, Patricia Arquette was seen at the opening for “In the Land of Retinal Delights: The Juxtapoz Factor.” It is supposed to be a huge show and has a lot of eye themed art in it. I am a bit jealous, since I would have loved going to that particular opening myself. Why don’t they ever have these things in rural areas with cows grazing across the street?

Anyway, I’m sure she had a fun and relaxing time. I’ll keep an eye out for some photos of her at the event. (Sorry for being a bit punny. I couldn’t resist.)

I read that somewhere too, Katelyn. She does love her art, doesn’t she? Seems like I’ve read about or seen pics of her attending art galleries quite often this past year. And there are quite a few artists whose webpages list her as a regular patron and collector. I wish I had the money to invest in art like that (or had a place to hang some nice artwork). But what would be really cool would be to live in a place where you could go to shows like that and explore new artists. Must be nice.

Patricia has bene out and about in the alst 2 weeks. One event was a fancy dinner. She looked great in a simple black suit/outfit.
The enxt was alst night at “The Butler’s in Love” movie premiere. Check out wireimage, gettyimages, rex features, etc., to see photos. She is with her family, as well as Thomas.
Can someone psot hi-res photos like they used to from events???
Patricia looked very cute and sweet in her white shirt, funky necklace, and baby blue pants.

Unfortunately, to respect copyright, I can only legally post photos from agencies we have agreements with. As soon as they upload new stuff, I’ll put it up. However, if you see an awesome photo and want to post a link to it, that would be completely okay.

We’re going through Picapp and Newscom for most stuff. I like them pretty well.

I was there because one of my pieces in the collection is part of it….

I spoke to Patricia and her husband “Thomas” for a little while. They are a very sweet couple and are
passionate in what they collect. They also have
loaned a painting for the show.

I bet if you all looked around, you would find a lot of art locally, even in a small town or rural area. I live in a primarly rural/agricultural county and one of the cities (pop 10,000) has a store where local artist’s works are displayed along with prints and gifts and frames. In the neighboring town about the same size, the local frame shop offers some local artist’s works, too. Each town has a museum that offers changing displays as well as static ones and sometimes art is highlighted as well as other worthy exhibits.

Don’t have anything like that? Talk to some local merchants or a restaurant that may have a party room available to display some works of art or photography and organize an event. Go to the local Youth Fair - you’ll see an enourmous amount of talented artist’s works displayed.

Probably won’t attract the Hollywood “A” list crowd, buth then again, you never know who might drop by. The best form of promotion is word of mouth.

BTW, congrats ronringo for exhibiting a piece of art for the Hollywood crowd!
