Now isn’t that interesting? We all come here because we love the show Medium, yet none of us would want to be a medium. Huh.
I chose telepathy, most likely because I have been an avid Telzey Amberdon fan since my teens and want to be just like her. Although knowing what people are really thinking would turn out to be more trouble than it is worth, I suspect.
I would not want to be a precog. If I knew ahead of time that bad things were going to happen, I would spend all my time running around trying to prevent them and then sink into a deep depression upon discovering I am unable to save everyone at all times. That knowledge already makes me sad, even without super powers. (For my favorite precog stories, check out Anne McCaffrey’s To Ride Pegasus. There may be newer! faster! better! precog stories out there, but Anne McCaffrey and James H. Schmitz are my first fantasy/sci-fi loves and will never go out of style.)
Clairvoyance, while fun in a Stephen King’s The Dead Zone kind of way, has not held the attraction it once had for me since they cast Farmer Ted as Johnny Smith for the TV show.
As for mediumship, well it just isn’t as sexy as the other psychic powers, now is it?
So what is your psychic power of choice and why? Don’t feel like you are limited to just one, either. I mean, if we are going to fantasize here, why limit ourselves?
