Sofia Vassilieva Doesn’t Need Hair to Look Good

by Katelyn on March 7th, 2008

Wow, Sofia looks different without hair, but has nice enough bones to still look okay. (Just Jared has a photo of her on the set for My Sister’s Keeper.) I’m glad she didn’t let the thought of cutting her hair keep her from taking this role. If the movie script is anything like the book, this should be an amazing addition to her acting resume. The book is big in book discussion circles and evokes strong emotion.

I’ve noticed that people who hate it have recently lost a sister or are estranged from a sister they used to be close to. Most other people seem to really love it. I know I read everything else Jodi Picoult wrote after I read it, so I must be in the second category. If you want to find out more about the story, check her website. There’s some good info there.

The hot debate on Just Jared was whether she really shaved her head or if she was wearing a cap. Obviously, they’ve never taken a close look at her hair! No way could she put that big, pretty head of hair under a cap and have it look like a normal bald head.

Wow, she does look different. I wonder what the producers of Medium are doing about her role. Are they filming around her or are they writing her out of some episodes to let her film this? And what are they going to do about her hair when she does come back? Is she going to wear a wig or are they going to write that into the script too? It would be kind of hard to ignore it the way they did when Patricia cut her hair. (The only reference that was made to it was when she saw Clay and he said “you cut your hair too”).
This movie, and the book, does seem to stir up a lot of emotions in people, doesn’t it? It sounds like a controversial topic, but it’s not the first time it’s been done. There was a movie made several (for television) about the same thing, but I guess what makes this one different is that the younger actually sued her parents. That blows my mind. I haven’t read the book so I won’t say anything else about it, but it’s just mind-boggling to me.

If I was writing things, I’d have her wear a long wig the first episode and get her hair cut short as a rebellion thing. Then, she wouldn’t have to wear a huge, heavy wig. Either that, or she could go through some weird clothing stage where she wears a monk’s robe with the hood up…

it is a cap, but there is no way they could have fit Sofia’s super long and seemingly thick hair under that skull cap….I think she may have chopping it, and fit it under the cap.
Judging from last night’s episode, she chopped her hair as she was wearing a wig for many scenes, but not all…
