Poor Bridgette. While everyone else is describing their parents’ mundane jobs as hair stylists, lawyers, sales staff and whatnot, she is trying to come up with a way to tell her class about her parents’ jobs. Dad is pretty easy, but exactly what do you tell your class when your mom’s job has her on speaking terms with the deceased? Allison is trying to stop a serial killer before he kills another woman and doesn’t have a ton of time to help Bridgette with her assignment.
I have fresh baked angel food cake, chocolate peppermint flavored coffee and champagne for us to snack on. I know you don’t want the coffee - who would? I’m making it anyway to get rid of it and one relative who will remain nameless is getting something weird from me for Christmas next year. Sweetie, what were you thinking?

Now you’re doing slips and falls? What happened to kidnappings, assults and murders? It’s a Saturday.
Joe cracks me up.

Joe is hysterical. I love his deadpan humor.

Bridget and Ariel always kill me when they argue. They’re so real and funny.
Eerie crazy or eerie accurate?
That’s a pretty tough call.

Sign, check.
Rock, check.
Hurt girl, no check.

Lots of people dream about their work once in awhile. Allison is being VERY creative here, huh?

I’m so sorry…we should have gone to the mall after all.
How do you apologize for exposing your family to a horrific murder scene anyway? Thank goodness she called the kids back before they saw it.

I don’t want to grow up and have kids and have to explain why their grandma always has dead bodies hanging around.
I guess that would be quite an explanation.

I don’t want to have to explain to my kids why their grandma always has dead bodies hanging around?
I forgive you. What’d you do?

I think you’re craaa-zy.
They always have such great music on this show. I wish they would make a soundtrack for the show. That would be cool.

Get back in the car, girl.

I want to know who drives through the desert at night without filling up their gas tank first. Duh!
No signal.
Big surprise.
I think you’re amazing, but it’s four o’clock in the morning, and I’m a homicide detective.
Katelyn

You’re right. A soundtrack would be cool. By the way, wasn’t everyone just saying that we never see David Cubitt shirtless?
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:28 pm
Oh, kill me now. It’s Sunday morning.
Poor Joe. He’ll probably die of sleep deprivation.
Scanlon looks good in jeans. He should wear them more often.
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:29 pm
Yeah, we see him shirtless occasionally, but not often enough. Not nearly enough.
Rachel

Shirtless Scanlon! Woo-hoo!

You’re late, Miss Dubois.
I’ll have my Mom write me a note.

Bridg, Mommy doesn’t see dead bodies wherever she goes…

Deputy Doll! Aaaghhh!
Dawn

Honestly, I don’t suspect there’s a lot of actual thinking going on here.
Sounds familiar.

I’m with Rachel. Aaaaaggh! Deputy Doll!!

Can you imagine looking out your window and seeing that guy looking in at you?
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:41 pm
Ya gotta hate that!
I would never have to check my doors and windows in the middle of night. I always keep mine locked. You never know when a psychic, psychopathic killer is going to drop by.

Hey, early bird, watcha’ doin’? Worm catchin’?
Dawn

Hey, early bird. Whatcha doing? Worm catching?
Joe is TOO funny.
Dawn

Lol, Katelyn.

The girls finally know.
Dawn

I really liked the way Patricia’s hair looked in season two. But her haristyle this season looks beautiful too.
Uh-oh.
Mom, you lied.
Busted.
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:49 pm
Yeah, Katelyn, Great minds, right, lol.
Allison does a really good job of explaining to the girls. That’s why the Medium writers are so good, because of episodes like this one.
Is that an order?
Lol.

I’m jealous of Ariel’s hair!
Katelyn

This life thing is a tricky business. Yeah, Joe, I’d love a table of contents, too.
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:52 pm
I keep looking for a batting order or table of contents, something to let you know what’s happening next.
Uh-oh.
It’s him.
He knows where we live.
Scaaa-rry.
Rachel

It’s Sonny! (Doesn’t sound like Eric Stoltz, tho.)
Katelyn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:53 pm
This is where I’d pack up my family, move to Alaska and start a new career as a preschool teacher.
Rachel
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:54 pm
And change all our names!!
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:54 pm
No, it doesn’t. It was obvious they dubbed Eric Stoltz’ voice in the “We Had a Dream” episode, because they changed some of the words.
Does anyone else have the season 3 box set yet? Have you noticed a difference in the episodes? There’s a note on the back of the box that says some of the eps may be different from the network versions. I haven’t noticed anything though. Has anyone else?

Look at Bridgette peaking around the corner.

My big sister was never so comforting. Lucky Bridge!

Mommy is just Mommy. Want to hop in here?
As much as those two fight, it’s so sweet when they’re actually nice to each other.

Poor Joe is almost flattened…but Allison gets the phone.
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:58 pm
Lee, it’s Allison. I know where he is.
Don’t you just LOVE karma?
Katelyn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:58 pm
Isn’t she a great actress? She seems just like a nervous kid giving a speech.
Katelyn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:59 pm
Awww. That mother daughter moment was adorable.
Rachel
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:59 pm
And the crowd goes wild!!
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 9:59 pm
Lol, Katelyn. I’ve heard several people say “Why doesn’t Allison keep the phone on her side of the bed?” But it’s so funny when she reaches across Joe for it.
That last scene with Allison and Bridgette was so sweet. Awwww.
Katelyn
Dec 30, 2007 at 10:01 pm
Well, I guess I’m off to play Nancy Drew. I am so hooked on these silly computer games, it isn’t funny.
Rachel

Joe gets more action with the phone on his side of the bed!
Dawn
Dec 30, 2007 at 10:02 pm
Katelyn, it’s amazing to me how mean some people can be, especially on the internet. There’s a person on the IMDB board who hates Bridgette and is always calling her fat and saying what a terrible actress she (Maria) is. It’s sad that someone can be so cruel.
Katelyn
Dec 30, 2007 at 10:03 pm
It is sad. I would bet anything that person is very miserable and unhappy with his or her own body image, you know?
Rachel
Dec 30, 2007 at 10:04 pm
I was chubby like that as a kid, but grew out of it soon after. Bite me, fat! Ha!!

One of my favorite eps of Season 2! Other than the fantastic writing, we get Scanlon shirtless AND in bed! Ha! Ha! Woo Hoo!
I’m with everyone on the UGG Deputy Doll - drat!
Great lines in this ep and just love the way Allison is so cool when she explains stuff to the girls - just love Bridgette - “she’s a guesser and a dreamer” - PERFECT!
