Photos of Patricia Arquette and Thomas Jane at the SAG Awards
January 24, 2010 by Kona Gallagher
As I was looking over Patricia Arquette’s various red carpet looks, one of the things that I noticed is that several of my favorites came from the SAG Awards. I don’t know why it is, but she seems to generally bring her “A” game to this event. So did she keep the streak alive this year? Yes and no.
There’s a lot to like about the dress she wore to this year’s SAG Awards. I love emerald green, and this color goes great with Arquette’s hair and eyes. It’s also a flattering shape, and doesn’t appear to be damaging any part …read more

Has Medium been canceled?
January 11, 2010 by Kona Gallagher
It’s the time of year where people are definitely buzzing about it. CBS made a bold move last year when they snapped Medium up for its Friday-night lineup the day after NBC canceled it after five seasons. Everybody’s eyes are on CBS and Medium now. If this is deemed to be a success, then there’s hope for more shows to be saved after cancellation. However, if Medium fails to get a seventh season, we may not be seeing too many saves like this again.
Jericho was famously saved by a fan campaign after CBS canceled it, but its second-season ratings didn’t …read more
Promo for Medium 6×10 – “You Give Me Fever”
December 3, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
UPDATE: Here’s the official version of the promo from CBS.
There’s no Lee or Lynn in it, so we don’t know what exactly the deal with Bridgette’s dream is, but we do have plenty of men in scary-looking protective gear coming after Allison. It looks like this episode is going to have a lot of action, which would be great!
Ratings Report: Medium’s first rerun performs solidly
November 30, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
If you spent the Thanksgiving weekend anything like my family and I did, it involved a lot of stuffing your face with ill-advised foods and maybe glancing at a football game or two before drifting off into a wine-induced slumber. I barely watched any TV at all over the weekend, and the fact that most shows were reruns made that feat quite easy indeed.
Medium showed a repeat from season 5 called, “The Man in the Mirror,” guest-starring Arrested Development’s Jeffrey Tambor (whom I love). Overall, I enjoyed the episode, but many of you commented that it wasn’t a strong choice …read more
Ratings for Medium 6×09 “The Future’s So Bright” – Holding steady
November 21, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
The overnights are in, and while last night’s episode of Medium, in which Allison had some crazy magical sunglasses that made her look like Alabama Whitman, was slightly down in overall viewers, it scored the same in the18-49 demo. Medium garnered 7.80 million viewers with a 1.9 in the 18-49 group, compared to last week when it had 8.16 million viewers and a 1.9.
Medium came in a close second to Ghost Whisperer, which had 8.43 million viewers and 2.0 in the 18-49 group, but beat CBS’ 10:00 show, Numb3rs, in the 18-49 demo, with its 7.84 million total viewers and …read more
Ratings for Medium 6×08 “Once in a Lifetime” – Movin’ on up
November 14, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
Mike already beat me to this in the comments, but Medium’s numbers are up from the last two weeks. Last night, they scored 8.16 million total viewers with 1.9 in the 18-49 demographic. While that’s a nice jump in total viewers from last week’s 7.6 million, it’s not a huge jump in the main demographic, as they garnered a 1.8 last week.
However, it was enough to allow Medium to easily win its timeslot, and for CBS to easily win the night. Once again, Dateline on NBC came in second place with 7.32/1.7. Medium also improved as compared to its Friday …read more
Allison DuBois talks about the most important thing she wants you to know
November 13, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
CBS has been posting interview clips with the real Allison DuBois, who makes her living as a psychic medium. In this clip, she talks about what she calls “the most important thing” that she feels people should know about loved ones who have passed away. Often, she says, people beat themselves up for not being there when someone close to them dies, but DuBois says that it is important to know that they were not alone: When someone dies, they are already surrounded by a ring of people from the other side.
Yes, that’s a nice thing to believe. Who wouldn’t …read more
The real DuBois family vs. the fictional DuBois family
November 11, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
As part of CBS’s continuing series on the real Allison DuBois (side note: do you ever think she gets addressed as anything other than “the real” Allison DuBois anymore?), they’ve done a video interview with her husband, “the real” Joe DuBois, and their children, who are similarly aged, but not named Ariel Bridgette and Marie.
In it, they talk about how their life compares to their on-screen counterparts. The general consensus seems to be that personality-wise, the characters are pretty true-to-life, but of course the situations are generally different. For instance, this Allison DuBois has never had a brain tumor, and …read more
Why Medium’s Ratings Are So Important
September 28, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
As some of you have read already, Medium’s premiere dominated the Friday night ratings. Not only did it easily win its timeslot, but with a viewership of 8.78 million (2.1 18-49) it had the most total viewers of the entire night. Not bad for a canceled show, huh? In fact, CBS’ lineup of Ghost Whisperer, Medium and Numb3rs each won in their respective timeslots.
What makes this so important is not only the fact that Medium has so far proved itself to be a viable show, but CBS’ lineup is helping to make Friday a viable night. Friday night has been …read more
