Ratings Report: Medium performs decently on a lackluster night
December 26, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
As it’s the holidays, everything is still pretty much in reruns. FOX was the only network brave enough to air new episodes– and it wasn’t even for their typical Friday night shows. Instead, they decided to do back-to-back-to-back-to-back episodes of Til Death. Unfortunately for them, the gamble didn’t pay off, as they still finished in fourth place.
CBS’s reruns didn’t fare much better, as they ended up in third place, but Medium’s rerun of “Pain Killer” was pretty steady, faring better than it’s Ghost Whisperer lead-in. Because of all of the Til Death reruns, the ratings are broken up into half-hour …read more
Ratings Report: Medium slightly down from its last rerun
December 13, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
This month is especially difficult for television, as people are spending less time at home, and more time preparing for the holidays. Either their out shopping, or attending holiday parties. Hanukkah also just started this weekend, so folks are just busy all around. So with that said, it’s not entirely beyond belief that Medium did not fare very well last night.
CBS ran the season premiere, “Deja Vu All Over Again,” and it was down slightly from the last rerun that they aired two weeks ago. Medium garnered a 1.1 in the 18.49 demographic, with 4.08 million total viewers. It still …read more
Ratings for Medium 6×10 “You Give Me Fever” – Medium wins its timeslot
December 5, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
Despite new episodes of Dollhouse, Ugly Betty and Dateline, Medium easily won its timeslot last night with its first new episode in two weeks. The bio-terror attack and Lee’s proposal managed to get kind of a low 6.96 million total viewers, but a respectable 1.8 in the ratings. While this is a huge improvement over last week’s rerun, it’s down slightly from Medium’s last new episode, which garnered 7.80 million viewers with a 1.9 in the 18-49 group.
I’m still dismayed to see that Dateline (6.28/1.5) is still routinely grabbing second place, because we really need to support scripted programming on …read more
Ratings Report: Medium’s first rerun performs solidly
November 30, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
If you spent the Thanksgiving weekend anything like my family and I did, it involved a lot of stuffing your face with ill-advised foods and maybe glancing at a football game or two before drifting off into a wine-induced slumber. I barely watched any TV at all over the weekend, and the fact that most shows were reruns made that feat quite easy indeed.
Medium showed a repeat from season 5 called, “The Man in the Mirror,” guest-starring Arrested Development’s Jeffrey Tambor (whom I love). Overall, I enjoyed the episode, but many of you commented that it wasn’t a strong choice …read more
Ratings for Medium 6×09 “The Future’s So Bright” – Holding steady
November 21, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
The overnights are in, and while last night’s episode of Medium, in which Allison had some crazy magical sunglasses that made her look like Alabama Whitman, was slightly down in overall viewers, it scored the same in the18-49 demo. Medium garnered 7.80 million viewers with a 1.9 in the 18-49 group, compared to last week when it had 8.16 million viewers and a 1.9.
Medium came in a close second to Ghost Whisperer, which had 8.43 million viewers and 2.0 in the 18-49 group, but beat CBS’ 10:00 show, Numb3rs, in the 18-49 demo, with its 7.84 million total viewers and …read more
Ratings for Medium 6×08 “Once in a Lifetime” – Movin’ on up
November 14, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
Mike already beat me to this in the comments, but Medium’s numbers are up from the last two weeks. Last night, they scored 8.16 million total viewers with 1.9 in the 18-49 demographic. While that’s a nice jump in total viewers from last week’s 7.6 million, it’s not a huge jump in the main demographic, as they garnered a 1.8 last week.
However, it was enough to allow Medium to easily win its timeslot, and for CBS to easily win the night. Once again, Dateline on NBC came in second place with 7.32/1.7. Medium also improved as compared to its Friday …read more
Twilight, reviews and Dawn of the Dead – Medium link roundup
November 9, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
Even though this is the, ahem, best place on the internet to read about all things Medium, it is not the only place. Here are a few other places around the web that are talking about Medium.
I always wait to read Brett’s reviews over at CliqueClack until I write mine here, then I compare. While I thought “New Terrain” was one of the weaker episodes so far this season, he really enjoyed it. You should definitely check it out; it’s a good counterpoint.
Ava Gacser enjoyed Joe’s Dawn of the Dead shout out in “Bite Me” as much as we all …read more
Ratings for Medium 6×07 “New Terrain” – Another off night
November 7, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
Granted, my theory that last week’s ratings lows were based on people being out at Halloween parties wasn’t entirely serious, but I did believe that the low ratings were an anomaly. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as Medium scored the same ratings as it did last week, and for the first time, lost the hour.
Scoring a total viewership of 7.6 million, and a 1.8 in the 18-49 group, Medium lost the 9:00 hour to a special two-hour episode of Law & Order. L&O garnered 8.0 million and a 1.8 at 8:00, but grew its audience in the …read more
Press Release for Medium 6×04 “The Medium is the Message”
October 13, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
New info has just been released for this week’s episode of Medium, and it looks as though were’ going to continue to find out more about Allison’s recovery. Fisher Stevens, who has previously starred on Lost and Numb3rs is guest-starring on this week’s episode as Allison’s acquaintance from physical therapy. It was nice meeting someone Allison knew from the hospital last week; I can only hope that this week it turns out better for everyone.

Medium “Who’s That Girl” Ratings
October 4, 2009 by Kona Gallagher
Even though ratings were down from the week before, CBS in general, and Medium specifically, easily won the night. CBS’s lineup of Ghost Whisperer, Medium, and Numb3rs easily beat fare that included Dollhouse on FOX, Law & Order on NBC, and The Forgotten on ABC.
Medium’s total viewers for the night were 7.7 million, building slightly on Ghost Whisperer’s audience of 7.6 million. Medium also won in the 18-49 demographic, snagging 1.8 million viewers.
While Friday night’s ratings may not be as high as they would be were these shows to air on a different night, they are blowing away the competition. …read more
