For those of you who love strong female leads who solve crimes, don’t forget that the fabulous Kyra Sedgwick will be back for another season of The Closer tonight, July 14th 9/8 central on TNT. I know it isn’t Medium, but I’d say it is definitely a strong contender for the second best current t.v. show. You’ve got a really strong lead character, quirky people and decent mysteries.

I love The Closer - it also has one of the BEST ensemble casts ever! Also terrific and just began it’s new shows, Burn Notice on USA network - really outstanding show with another terrific cast. GREAT summer entertainment! Saving Grace also begins new episodes tonight which has an otherworldly bent to it. Talk about a multi-layerd character and terrific performer! Holly Hunter rocks this role! Definitely not the same old one hour TV drama! Really out of the box on this one. None of the lead chacters in these shows are portrayed as “perfect” - they’ve got lots of flaws, but do their particular jobs very well. All of these are worth watching and recording. Each of these shows are dramas and deal with some terribly serious subjects, but also infuse a lot of humor where appropriate. A perfect mix of comedic moments to lighten the heavy ones.

Oh, yes, I love Burn Notice. The strange thing is I hated the first two episodes, but I kept watching it anyway and it really grew on me.
