The Extra Large Medium Book Discussion

Hopefully everyone who is interested in participating in the book discussion now has a copy of The Extra Large Medium. I finished the book and thought the differences between it and Medium were pretty interesting. I’ve never tried to hold an online book discussion before, so I guess the best thing is to ask a few questions and let the conversation evolve from there.

What did you think of the way all the ghosts wearing chocolate brown? It would certainly help the medium know right away whether they were indeed ghosts, but is it plausible? Does it seem more likely that they would show up in a different color, in the same exact colors they died in, etc? If their clothes are brown, why aren’t they also brown?

Does it seem likely that she would know all these things about other people, but not what happened to her husband?

Did the fact that dead people were desperate to impart information that wasn’t that important to anyone but them seem realistic? In most books and movies, it seems like they hang around to tell people they were murdered, not where the good silver is or that the key to the shed dropped behind the stove.

 How about the open frequency? Does it seem like anyone could stay sane if they can’t ever block out all the ghosts demanding attention?
