Medium Dreams

The Fall Renewal Roundup

by Sheila on March 15th, 2007

Didn’t get enough of a freak-out about “the bubble” with yesterday’s post about fall season TV show renewals…and Medium maybe getting the axe? There’s more!

We will know soon enough in May, when the networks make their decisions.

That is not even remotely soon enough, though, is it? Soon enough would be NOW. Let us just leave it at “We will know in May” and pretend about the ”soon enough” part, m’kay?

Hey, thanks for those links, Sheila. Those were great. I especially liked the Chris Evans one. It’s good to know that there are still a lot of people supporting this show. And I hope that more of them start to speak up and make themselves heard so that NBC will know that there are still a lot of people who love this show.

Everybody get out your pens and paper and write a letter to the nice men at NBC about keeping Medium on the air. Let our voices be heard!

In case anyone is interested, I have started a new topic poll on the NBC.com Medium message board, titled, “NBC please DO NOT CANCEL Medium”. Please feel free to go and add your comment to this post - hopefully we will get a lot - I am optimistic that NBC might see the thread and pay attention. If not, well, at least we tried.

I plan to send a snail mail letter as well.

Betty–I went and left a post telling them how much I love Medium. I hope they read them!

I would like to send a letter, too. What is the address?

I just got done writing a two page letter on why NBC should renew Medium, but I don’t know where to send it. I can’t find an address anywhere. Does anyone know where I can send it?

Hey, I thought of some more things we can do to help get NBC the message that we want Medium to stick around. Here’s some of the things I thought of:

    1. Go to NBC’s Contact Us section ( http://www.nbc.com/Footer/Contact_Us/ ) and tell them why you love Medium. Tell them why you believe they shouldn’t cancel it. Let them know you support this show.

    2. I just recently found this great site called Savethatshow.com. Here ( http://www.savethatshow.com/Save_That_Show__Medium.shtml ) you can vote to save Mediun. Also on this site, ( http://savethatshow.com/Save_That_Show__Something_To_Say_to_NBC.shtml ) they have a plave where you can write a letter and they will actually mail it into NBC for you. Isn’t that great!?

    4. Visit http://www.savemyshow.com/shows/medium.htm and vote for Medium. I don’t know what good this will do, but it can’t hurt, right?

Does anybody else have any ideas. The more we can do the better, I think.

Thanks for those links, Holly. The first time I went to that site, there was no place to vote, so I went back and voted. I also wrote a letter to NBC, although I don’t know what good it will do, but at least we’ve made our voices heard.
Also, just wanted to add something for all you Patricia Arquette fans. I recently came across a terrific podcast that she did last August at a site called FatFreeFilm.com. It’s an indie film site and it’s devoted to the people who mostly do indie films. Anyway, it’s a terrific interview with Patricia. She talks a lot about her creative process and directors that she’s worked with. Her episode is number 39. Check it out.

Thanks for the heads up, Dawn. I just got done listening to the podcast and I really enjoyed it.

Holly: Wasn’t that a great interview? I loved it. The part where she excused herself to go yell at someone was hilarious. But I thought it was fascinating to hear about how she approaches each role she plays. As I said, it was a great interview.

Sheila: Thanks for adding the link to that podcast. I would have done it myself, but I’m not too good at all that technical stuff. Hope everyone enjoys the interview.

Sheila: I’m sorry to keep clogging up the comments section, but my ISP won’t let me e-mail you when I click on your link. (GRRR-I hate Comcast) Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that Patricia is scheduled to be on the Today Show on March 28th. Maybe NBC is going to finally get wise and start promoting the show.

No worries Dawn. I love comments! And everyone who reads them gets the info right away, too.

It’s me again. I just found an actual address where we can send ’snail-mail’ letters to NBC. Here it is:

    Kevin Reilly
    Entertainment President, NBC
    3000 W. Alameda
    Burbank, CA 91523

Also the VP of programming is Mitch Metcalf. Maybe we could try writing to him too.

Just wanted to let you all know one more thing we can do to save Medium. At eonline, they have begun their annual Save One Show campaign, where they lobby for one show, which is chosen by the viewers, to be saved from cancellation. This campaign has successfully saved one show from cancellation for five of the last six years. So go to eonline.com and read the article in Watch with Kristin, then cast your vote for Medium. Voting is open until April 6th, and the show that is chosen will be revealed on April 13th. Let’s do all we can to let NBC know how much we love this show.
