The Five Most Rotten Villains in Medium

by Katelyn on June 24th, 2008

Lily Rabe5095.JPG Frankly, it is hard to narrow down the bad guys in Medium to the top five evil ones. There are so many villainous bad guys to choose from. However, I think we met some of the worst in Season Four.

Of course, the top bad guy of all time is Dr. Charles Walker. A man so evil that even death doesn’t stop him from wreaking havoc and destruction.

Second place has to go to the completely amoral Joanna Wheeler (played by Lily Rabe, pictured on the right.) She is a very sick girl and caused such grief and heartache to parents while torturing their sweet daughters. Cynthia Keener (Angelica Huston) would agree with me on this one.

The last of the top three will have to go to the dancing man hired to perform pest control in Season Four’s opening episode And Then. There is just something very evil about someone who preys on children and this episode was probably the one that disturbed me the most out of all four seasons.

Runner up number one is Sonny Troyer, the serial killer who has psychic ability. This guy loves to terrorize women and goes after Allison, too. (By the way, did anyone notice that he doesn’t get a name until his second appearance? The first episode he is in credits him as murderer.)

The final member of the infamous top five would have to be Jason Priestly’s character Walter Paxton, who appeared in the three episode arc at the end of season three. He killed his victims, used the women who loved him to do his dirty work and then killed them, too.

So, how do you feel about my list of purely evil people? Do you think someone else should bump one of these nasties further down the list of Medium villains?

Good list -but I really liked when Patricia’s sister, Rosanna Arquette, when she appeared in “Lady Killer” (Medium, Season 4, Episode 11) —it was probably more funny than evil… but the premise was at least interesting TV! :)

    This Would Be my list:
    5. Joanna Wheeler
    4. The Monkey heads (season 3)
    3. Walter Paxton
    2. Sonny Troyer
    1. Dr. Charles Walker

I would have to say that my list has a lot to do with the fact that these people scared the hell out of me…

Those are great choices, Katelyn! I’m glad you included the “dancing man.” Sick, very sick.

I also liked Kelsey Grammar as the Angel of Death in “Death Takes a Holiday.” I wasn’t necessarily scared by him, but he was a fun rotten villain.

Some other good evil ones are that awful guy who killed Scanlon’s sister in “A Couple of Choices” and Chad Lowe as that nutbag pilot who killed his wife and buried her at the coordinates of their anniversary date in “Being Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow.”

And I know she’s not a villian per se, but I’d also like to submit Deputy Doll for consideration.

Great list Katelyn! I have to agree with all of your choices!

nansee, girl, you’ve got me falling out of my chair!

Perhaps Katelyn should start a new list - biggest biyatach’s ever on Medium in honor of Deputy Doll! Whaddya think?

Back to the list, Sonny Troyer, yep THAT was one creepy guy - “sensing” someone alone and afraid and going after them - creepy! That pilot - very cold and caculating. The dancing guy - horrific way to treat a child or anyone for that matter. Yep, have to agree with Fito by adding the Monkey Heads killers - wiped out whole families and for what? I’m sure they would have gladly given them the stupid paintings and filed an insurance claim and been done with it.
What about the guy in the Valentine ep (3rd season) where Allison thought she was “Sondra” - he went to the trouble of performing numerous operations on his lover so he could replace his wife with her so no one would know she was gone and they would use her millions/billions to live on. nansee, you’re right about the guy in “A Couple of Choices” where we were introduced to Scanlon - a photographer who takes pics of couples for their weddings and them comes back to terrorize them and kill them after a year of marriage.

Gotta hand it to those writers over at Medium for dreaming up some terrific villians.
