The Original Allison

It’s unusual for a show to portray a real-life character while the person it’s based on is still alive and kicking. This parallelism is just one thing that makes Medium so intriguing.

The original Allison DuBois is in fact a medium and psychic who spends her days helping the police solve crimes and locate missing people.

Her husband is indeed named Joe and is a rocket scientist, just like his TV alter ego.

And Allison has three daughters, who argue over things like the television remote, another aspect that is portrayed so well in the TV show.

Hooray for NBC for picking the right subject.
