TV Guide Finally Pays Medium Some Attention
As you pick up the January 7th, 2008 edition of TV Guide, you feel more resignation than disappointment. What did you expect? Medium on the cover? Doesn’t happen and you know it. You flip it over to glance at the back cover ad for some random…Whoa. Now, you’re seeing things, because you know this isn’t really the back cover:

You mentioned Patricia Arquette looking fabulous. She is fabulous, especially in the show because she looks like a real housewife as opposed to a desperate one. I am amazed the show has managed to not only survive but thrive.

I know what you mean, Bret. In a television landscape filled with desperate housewives, lusty doctors, and marginally talented idol wannabes, it’s amazing that a quality show like Medium, with such incredible acting, writing and directing, could not only survive, but thrive. And it’s sad that we have to get this excited about seeing a minimal amount of coverage in the entertainment magazines. That’s just shameful, imo.
But the fact that it has thrived is largely a testament to the wonderful talents of everyone involved with the show, and they deserve much more credit than they are given. I’m just glad to see some coverage finally. Maybe with all the other shows in reruns, Medium can finally start getting some decent coverage.
And Patricia IS fabulous. What else can you say about her? She’s awesome. :)

I went to the supermarket the other day to read the TV Guide (why buy them?). I had been told that Medium was in it a little, but I was surprised that I saw what I saw. Pleasant surprise, even though it really deserves more. I think this is great!
Yay, Medium starts tomorrow!!

Can you believe it? I think all of last year, Medium only made it on the hot list ONCE. No back covers or front covers, either. That’s terrific ad! It’s about time!
I’m so hoping the ratings are HUGE tonight! It’s up against a CSI Miami repeat on CBS and October Road on ABD and I think they have only been rating like a 3.1 or something, so I sure hope tonight is no exception. Maybe NBC will invest a little more in it if they show some big numbers once again.
