Where Is Our Christmas Special?

by Katelyn on November 23rd, 2008

I’ve noticed something. It makes me jealous. It makes me cross. It makes me sad. Why do the USA network shows, which are part of NBC, get Christmas specials and we don’t? I want a Medium Christmas special. I want Allison to solve crimes while stuffing stockings. I want to see Joe trying to find her a present she doesn’t know about. I want to see Scanlon wearing a Santa hat. (So do you. I know you do.) I’d even settle for a special where Monk is forced to take the plane to Arizona and runs into Allison and co. Please, NBC? Please?

This all leads up to our next poll - how do you feel about Christmas specials?

I would love to see a Medium Christmas special (or anything of Medium right now:( ). Medium has only done a couple of birthday episodes, and that (wonderful) Valentine’s Day episode, but no other holiday themed episodes (except that one Mother’s Day ep with Joe’s mom from season 1).

I would love to see a Christmas themed Medium episode. Maybe since Allison sees ghosts, they could do a takeoff on the Scrooge story. Perhaps if someone has committed a crime, and the ghosts are helping Allison to bring the killer to justice by visiting her and using her as a go-between to “talk” to the killer, who eventually is brought to justice (not saying how, that would be too easy). Maybe Allison has a crisis of conscience about the case and it leads her to make a very difficult decision, which she then has to live with the consequences of.

Just an idea. But it would be pretty kewl, huh?

Oooh, I like it. I’m surprised that the Medium writers haven’t insisted on a storyline like this already. It is just too perfect.

I know, it’s just too obvious, isn’t it? And there could be a great backstory with Joe trying to figure out what to get Allison for Christmas without her guessing what it is. (The real Joe has that problem all the time.) Maybe Marie is having doubts about Santa Claus because she read Joe and Allison’s minds and she doesn’t believe in Santa, and they’re trying to convince her that, yes, there really is a Santa Claus.

    Ya think?

Absolutely. Now, if only Mr. Caron would read Medium Dreams…

I imagine it would be very hard for the writers to make a Christmas themed ep since they never know when or if Medium will make back to the air! It’s absolutely shameful the way NBC treats this fabulous show!

Maybe each Medium character could have their little, “It’s a Wonderful Life” segment after having a really bad day. They could all come together in the end as one big happy functional/dysfunctional family!

    Oh, Betty,
I like this one, too. I can just imagine these glorious Christmas episodes filled with hilarious lines.
